Default Vikings Season 1 - 4 (Part One) Phase 4 Canadian Edition Blu-Ray

Greetings,

There is no arguing that us Canadians got an inferior release of this fantastic TV series. The lack of a lossless audio track alone is enough to make me cringe. That being said I wanted to check and see if any of the episodes are cut or censored in any fashion.

With exception of the lower quality Audio, what other differences are there between the Canadian (Released by Phase 4) and the superior American Blu Ray releases of this series?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the listing, but a lot of special features are missing in the Canadian editions...

yep noticed that as well.

Still unable to determine if the actual episodes are any different. (For example of the American release has extended edition episodes or etc where the Canadian release only has the broadcast episodes)

What is even more infuriating, is that Vikings is a Canadian TV series and we get such a garbage blu ray release. Picked up the recently released season 4 part 2 phase 4 edition. As usual vastly inferior to the American variant.

Still unable to ascertain if the the episodes content on the Canadian releases is inferior as well.

Eone has re-released the seasons in Canada, and the running times on the back of the cases are different than the running times on the Phase 4 releases. So they might be the uncut episodes now or simply an error on the back of the cases.
My Top 5 Movies of All Time:
1. Forrest Gump
2. Back to the Future Part 1 & Back to the Future Part 2
3. Braveheart
4. Halloween (1978)
5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I don't think so, they were bought by eOne in 2014 and the most recent releases I can find for them is 2015. Their website is no longer active. It's no great loss as their releases, while cheap, were mostly horrible - cropped aspect ratio, lossy audio, and in this case cut/censored.

To the best of my knowledge the Canadian versions are all still handicapped with the TV versions of the eps va the extended versions on the US version (most eps are extended), lossy audio and no extras
The first thing I try to communicate to my crew is that there will be no shaky-cam and no rack zooms, because those techniques are only used to hide the fact that there is no energy. When you eliminate those gimmicks you’re confronted with the reality of the shot you have in front of you, and nine times out of 10 you say to yourself: “This just isn’t working.”

That's why I always compare the two and sometimes buy from Amazon U.S.
