I think Adam meant is there a version on DVD/BD with that song included.

It was included in the fullscreen version on the 2005 DVD, but not the widescreen version.

Yeah, I still have my fullscreen DVD from back-in-the day and I won't buy it again EVER until the song is restored. It pains me, because I really want it on Blu-ray/widescreen.

In the spirit of the season, I am *not* going to chastise Disney for having eviscerated the heart and soul one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies by deleting the central song "When Love is Gone". I am not going to do that.

Instead, I thank Disney for having made this film classic available on Blu-ray. Just the idea of having the widescreen brilliance and stereophonic (well, 5.1) splendor available on Blu-ray sends my head spinning. Thank you, Disney!

And, I am looking forward to buying a copy of a someday new edition which seamlessly branches the song into the fabric of the film of which it is an integral part -- giving richness, gravitas, and added meaning to this brilliant, timeless Henson classic. I'm so looking forward to that.

Thank you, Disney! Merry Christmas!

Ditto! Just glad to have something to watch season. And hey, maybe we'll get a Christmas Miracle and will get a better version one day.

I never did get the Blu-ray because I can't bear to watch the movie without that song. (Now I know how all the Ace Ventura fans feel about the missing dolphin scene.)

The 4:3 DVD will get played on Christmas Eve, same every year.

Yeah, me too.
So, the missing song has never been released in widescreen format or was it in a laser disc edition I think?

edit: oh, never mind. Found it!

I understand why people want the original song, but I watched the Blu-ray recently and not only is the quality leagues above the DVD, but I actually found that it flowed better without the song. It's a little abrupt, but I'm okay with it.

I've already watched the widescreen LD version of the movie twice this Christmas season. I could never watch the film without the song. The LD might not be as clear as the current BD, but it is 100 times more enjoyable!
