Sequels? I thought this movie was just a solo thing.

There are no concrete plans yet. However, all the main actors are signed on for two more Star Wars films after this and Ron Howard has said if this is a success then a sequel will likely happen. Reviews and people who have attended early screenings have implied the film leaves things very open for a sequel (according to some the film works as a standalone but feels like the first in a trilogy).

Signs have also pointed towards the 2020 film (heavily rumoured to be Obi-Wan) being the last Star Wars Anthology film for now. This would make sense if Lucasfilm is planning on having three trilogies running together; Solo, Rian Johnson's trilogy and Game of Thrones writers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss's trilogy.

I hope the movie is good. But basically I just don't care.
He wanted Han killed off because he was sick of Star Wars. No one hates Star Wars more than Harrison Ford.

It's been widely reported that
[Show spoiler]Han dying
and Indiana Jones 5 being made were his only conditions for agreeing to do The Force Awakens.

The only reason Empire ended with Han frozen in Carbonite was because they had no idea if Ford would come back for more films (which is why they make a case of saying Han might not survive).

Yeah, itís at 46%. Thatís insane. Really no user review website is a reliable source on what people think about a film in general. When people can hop on an unlimited number of times and spam 1ís or 10ís. I mean just look at IMDb. They had to close the user review section for this film because it had a rating in the 5ís with thousands of votes when only a handful of people had even seen the film.

They never wanted a Harrison Ford impersonator, they wanted someone who can bring something new to the role. Much like how Ewan McGregor brought something new to the role of Obi-Wan, despite looking nothing like Alec Guinness, made it his own and is now, arguably, the actor many associate most with the character. Or how James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence were able to bring something new to the roles of Professor X, Magneto and Mystique in the X-Men films. Or how Martin Freeman was perfect as Bilbo Baggins even though he looks nothing like Ian Holm.

If you're making a prequel and your goal is to cast an actor who looks like the spitting image of the old actor and can do a spot on impersonation, you've made a big mistake. The goal is to cast a young version of the character, not a young version of the original actor. They're two separate things and you're crippling your film as a result. Returning to The Hobbit as an example, Peter Jackson could have cast someone who looked exactly like a young Ian Holm... but that person would not have been the perfect Bilbo that Martin Freeman was.

Lucasfilm's casting has been spot on for all their films so far (there was not a single role in The Force Awakens, Rogue One or The Last Jedi that felt miscast). They cast Alden for a reason. Move beyond the visual superficiality of "he doesn't look like a young Harrison Ford" and think more "how much does he look/feel/act like a young Han Solo?". And a young Han Solo, in a film set ten years before A New Hope, might be a very different character to the one we met in A New Hope.
I don't know I thought River Phoenix pulled off a young Indiana Jones in The Last Crusade pretty well mimicking both Jones and Ford at the same time.

A lot of people I know irl who are just casual moviegoers (who see the Marvel films, blockbusters, Greatest Showman etc) have said they're not interested in it and are planning to give it a miss, even though it's got the Star Wars tag. Might be something in it.
