The reason Jaws looks amazing is because Universal had Spielberg standing over their backs approving the transfer. If it wasn't for that, they probably would'nt have given it as much TLC, same thing with Schindler's List - Spielberg was there. That's why those releases are beautiful and not DNR'd to death.

Did you not see?

How can you get a custom slipcover? Or are you getting mixed up with covert insert?

I'm sure somebody here on the trade forum might be able to help if you want the slipcover. It's not that great though, just another of Universal's horrible looking "best of the decade" slips.

I watched my Blu-ray of Cape Fear last night, and loved it. There is some noticeable DNR, but the black levels make up for it. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this edition that soars miles about any of my earlier viewings on VHS or DVD.

Cape Fear is such a great flick, and it has a real brutal urgency that belies its age.

Definitely worth a lot more than the $7.99 that I paid for this at Best Buy.

I like both versions of Cape Fear. I just bought this @ Walmart for $6.96.

Both IMdB & This site state 1962 but the back of the BD case says 1961?

Don't think I ever saw that b4.

The film's copyright year is 1961, however, it was actually released to theatres in 1962. This happens quite frequently, for example the credits on Patton say 1969 but it was released in 1970 and won Best Picture of 1970.

Does this still come with a slip? in general, are the 'best of the decade' slips only with the first shipments?
