Supporting the DVD industry is the reason why your movies aren't getting released on Blu-ray. Stop it. You should never buy a DVD. EVER!!! Let it die. They don't care if they get the money from you via the DVD format or via the Blu-ray format. But if they get it from you via the DVD format, you are telling them one thing: you are content with standard definition and have no problem with them not releasing a Blu-ray version. I can understand not wanting to buy a HD digital copy. Purchasing digital media always feels like a rip-off since you aren't getting anything to hold in your hands. But at least consider pirating the HD digital copy instead of purchasing the DVD copy and holding the Blu-ray format back in the process. This way you won't be encouraging the DVD format and you also won't be encouraging the replacement of Blu-ray by online video. And you'll get to see the highest quality version of the film available for free. It's a win-win! Last edited by scorpiontail60; 12-15-2012 at 03:05 AM. |

I have a few hundred recorded off of broadcast tv that have yet to hit the format. Hopefully more programs like Warner Archive will make them available to purchase on blu-ray.

La Bamba. I was listening to the soundtrack and felt like watching this, but I don't own the DVD. Vudu has a HDX version that's really tempting. I doubt we'll ever see it on bd unless a company like Twilight Time gets it. With it being a Sony title, it's possible.
