I got such a good deal on the TV I didn't bother to worry about the starter package, just wanted to make sure I was getting one with 2 pair of glasses, and I'm also getting the blu-ray player, as well.
It hasn't been announced how Samsung will be distributing the Shrek movies yet

They can. Just none have been released yet because they believe the market is too young

So there's no end to the Coraline/Ice Age exclusive thing with Panasonic? Or it was just never announced?

Coraline and Ice Age will eventually end the exclusivity, but it hasn't been announced yet. I would assume that the bundle deal will expire December 31st....at least that's what my Panasonic rep was told.

Gotcha, thanks. I actually bought the regular Coraline when it first came out and never even watched it. I keep hearing incredible things about the 3D on Ice Age, though, and wouldn't mind dropping $30-$35 to get that one.

Just bought a panasonic vt20a and didnt really have too high hopes for the 3D aspect of the TV. It was just a "bonus" to me.

But, having seen this list man am I fricken amped up now!

Titanic is coming to 3D (i knew this news from an interview from avatar but this now confirms more)

Cant wait to see kate winslett's nipples come RIGHT out at my face during her portrait.....come on cameron, do it, do it....oh and yeah of course the sinking sequence would probly look cool in 3D conversion.
...
Then there is ALL 6 saga star wars films! WOW this is news to me, and awesome as hell. Will be first day buys, but i dont expect them done for at least 2 years. All of them I mean.

Then there is shrek and stuff! Not bad... Funnily yesterday (before i read this list) I was watching ice age 3D for the first time and seeing the deer running swerving, and hopping on the spot mocking the sabertooth.. I turned to someone and jokingly "well its only a matter of time before shrek gets another installment for a 3D release." ...deer = donkey. at least in that animators form.. Lol
..
Then....OMFG .......LION KING!!! just wow. This is freeaakkkin awesome. Please please lets have that movie in 3D. Think of the stampede sequence?? So much of the movie already pops out at you and appears alive even in 2D...just imagine with their depth axis data what they can do. Hopefully blow my freakin mind. Bring that movie on disney Thank you...

Sweet

Legend of the Guardians was a very good movie. Visually stunning in any dimension and an all to rare example of dark mature animation. Its classic Good versus Evil fantasy. Its a movie that will be an easy easy must buy on 3D Blu-Ray.

Lightbulb A 'few' more

Because you also have foreign releases in your list, I thought to let you know a few that you might have missed (I left out the ones in 720p):
- Dragster 3D (Germany)
- Fantastischen Vier, Die (Germany)
- Imax Amazing Caves (UK)
- Imax Greece (UK)
- Imax Ride around the world (UK)
- Imax Van Gogh (UK)
- Imax Volcanoes (UK)
- Imax The Alps (UK)
- Lang Lang - Live in Vienna (Hybrid, see on Amazon)
- Magic Borneo
- Magic Costa Rica
- Samy Adventure (France)
You can find most of them on this website (blu-ray.com), but if you'd like a link, please let me know.

If the Guardians is "dark, mature, animation" Im all 4 it. It will def. be a day 1 buy 4 me. Since this is a Canadian release date do you think it will come out at the same time in the states? If not, does Canada have a different region code than us?

I'd love to see some of those other Imax films released in the states as well. Anyone know if they are region locked?

Sorry to hijack the thread but as a new member i cant create new thread. (stupid rule)

It's about the possibility of 3D patch from BD-live.

I asked the guy from Blockbuster if he had any 3D blu-ray's. He said no but he heard you can download the 3D patch from blu-ray live for the non-3d version of blu-ray movies. But...the guy wasnt sure you know.

So im asking if some of you have any info on that and what movie benefit from it. I just dont wanna rent a movie just to try it at home lol.

Sounds bogus....3d patch?

I dont get what that would do at all. Your TV either does 2d-->3D conversion or it doesn't.

You need a 3D player to play 3D technology. So id assume you need a 3D player for ANY fake conversion process.

The three Shrek Movies have been rereleased in 3D blu-ray yesterday. I'll watch sometimes by the end of week.

Great guide. Hope to see Avatar and Resident Evil in 3D in a month or so.
