I don't know how they are so deep. Maybe the disc and OPPO83 help with the blacks.

That should be an easy choice, the ST60, considering that people are being over charged for VT's and ZT's. Having said that, I have a VT60, its a gorgeous display, good set to have while waiting OLED. I would love to have a curved 60 inch 1080p or 4K OLED. OLED will be my next purchase.

You need to play around with the settings, the ZT is capable of deep blacks. However, be careful you don't want crush the blacks which is what that picture looks like to me.

Man I got my settings from D-nice over at another forum....My zt60 is showing the blacks its capable of....to be honest I dont think CHALS2 vt60 is really capable of those black levels. I think its a combination of black crush from the camera and poor ISO setting on the camera

I could be wrong but I dont want to insult him or anything. Its just that D-nice and many other experienced calibrators have confirmed that the VT/ZT60 plasmas will ALL have visible glow ( aka visible black levels ) with low apl content aka very very dark content

So either his VT60 is somehow really special and he really does have those OLED black levels or its black level crush from his camera

You serious man? What you see in the picture is what you see in person? Thats crazy!

Blacks like those would definately measure below 0.0001 for sure....thats one decimal darker than what CNETs vt60 measured in at 0.001 and darker than a tweaked kuro 0.0005

Maybe my zt60 is busted.

That VT60 must be super-charged. Lucky guy!

ps: Did D-Nice give you a calibration summary report? Black level should be on there

I don't even have it on my computer anymore. Don't matter to me what the numbers are, it's close enough to my 5020 Kuro so i am happy.

My 5020 Kuro was a tad darker. Dnice bought my 5020 and said it was one the best he ever worked on.

Do you have a direct HDMI connection from the Oppo to the display? That might improve the black levels a smidge.
Faster than a bullet from a gun. Closer to Heaven than to Earth.

2K setup: 65" Panasonic VT65, Onkyo TX-SR608 7.2, Oppo BDP-103 Region-Free, Jamo E850 fronts, E8CEN centre, E800 surrounds and rear surrounds, E8SUB subwoofer, Monster Power HTS-2600, 1TB Mediacentre, 500GB PS4, Cyron RGB LEDs. 50" VT30 and 40GB fat PS3 in the lounge.

4K setup to follow...
