Hmm... thanks for letting me know.

The trailer looks pretty good.

Prison was one of my better blind buys for sure. For starters the blu ray looks great. It has an unpolished yet surprisingly film-like and appearance with distinct fine grain and nearly no EE as far as I can tell. It certainly doesn't have the shiny clean look of other titles but I highly value this type of non-manipulated transfer and I think this might be the best looking Scream Factory blu I've seen. I enjoyed the movie quite a bit and consider it an overlooked gem. I love 80's horror more than just about anything else so getting to see one I knew next to nothing about for the first time was a treat. Really great on location filming with a unique atmosphere and some wicked practical effects.

I enjoyed Prison. I was directed by Renny Harlin, who also did Nightmare on Elm Street 4. One thing I found with this blu-ray was that the DTS-HDMA 2.0 audio track sounded much better than the 5.1 remix. The 5.1 remix was very quiet, whereas the 2.0 track was more aggressive and clear.

Can anyone out there in Blu-ray land lead me in the direction to find this w/ the slipcover and who would be my best bet to purchase from?

Thanks in advance!

Your best bet would be Family Videos website. Almost everyone I have talked to who ordered a Scream Factory Blu through them got a slip. It should run you between $21-$22 shipped. Unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment, but try back in a few days.

Just ordered a copy for myself from Amazon. Hopefully it arrives with a slip. It's a blind buy for me so I am looking forward to watching it.

This bump just made me want to revisit my blu-ray of Prison. It's really a good little supernatural slasher!

Got my copy from Amazon today. No slip and a cracked corner on the case. Oh well. I'll come across a slip soon enough.

Has anyone ordered this lately and received a copy with the Slipcover?
I am trying to replace my collection after being burgled and this one is proving difficult to find.

After hearing about this film from various interviews from John Carl Buechler, Kane Hodder and Renny Harlin, i've had quite the desire to check it out and despite it being recommended to me on Target's website, I finally pulled the trigger upon finding a used copy of the Scream Factory blu-ray at my local Rasputin Music for $9.95 (complete with the apparently hard to find slipcover intact! Yay me!).

Now finally owning the film, I sat down to watch it and...wow. This was a pretty bad-ass movie.

Owing quite a bit to the visual aesthetics of Michael Mann's The Keep, Harlin and company delivered quite the entertaining spookshow, complete with Viggo Mortensen showing off his eventually realized potential as a strong leading man (complete with a surprising scene that would coincidentally hint at the most famous scene in "Eastern Promises"), a fun supporting cast (the best being Viggo's Chainsaw III co-star Tom Everett as a real snake of a man and WWE legend Zeus in his most F-Bomb happy role to date, IMO), a truly wretched villain in Lane Smith's Warden Sharpe, the lovely Chelsea Field (despite not really having much to do) is super easy on the eyes and the SFX laden kill and suspense sequences are a real hoot.

Outright dripping in style with enough substance to hold the admittedly flimsy (but delightfully pulpy) plot together, Prison is definitely one of Harlin's strongest efforts, me thinks and should be in any serious horror/cult film fan's collection.

About to dig into the special features now.
