No problem. A couple other good ones with Bale that people tend to miss are Rescue Dawn and Empire of the Sun.

Does anyone know if this will be 1 disc or 2 disc? The release date is April 2nd 2013.
4 Film Action Pack: Vol. 4
Equilibrium / Driven to Kill / Supercop / The Yards

According to amazon it's 1 disc...but they also have it listed with Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1 lol

Would be nice if it was 2 disc and same specs as the 6 action pack, but with higher bitrate (2 movies per disc). Although it still seems strange why echo bridge didn't re-release it (the majority of people aren't picky about quality, except for people around here lol) And used the same transfer as the 6 action pack, and put it on a single disc (50gb).

Echo Bridge doesn't usually use 50 GB discs unless they are packing 2-3 movies on one. They're small so that's understandable. Equilibrium could actually fit on a BD-25 with a higher bitrate closer to 20 instead of 14 like the 6 pack assuming there were no extras.

I used Google to translate the extras and this is what this edition has:

* Screen Format: 1.85:1 (1080p HD widescreen)
* Sound Mix: dts-HD
* Extras:
FINDING EQUILIBRIUM FEATURETTE (4 minutes, 27 seconds)
DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY
PRODUCER / DIRECTOR 'S COMMENTARY
Trailer (2 minutes, 21 seconds)
GUN index (9 + Digest part to play this title)
Digest + GUN = KATA index (two kinds of part to play this title)

It says the screen format is 1.85 but this could be incorrect. We need someone that actually has this version to confirm.
Yeah can anyone confirm it's 1:85:1? Because if thats an error I would really love to get this one. It's cheaper than the Japanese disc. I really don't want to buy that stupid 6 action films bullshit just to get one movie I like. Bad enough I have had to do a version of that with The Prophecy.

Well, if you decide to buy the Korean release (with, or without the OAR), you're going to end up paying $25.00 more, when the Echo Bridge 6 movie pack, is only $15.00, or even cheaper, if you buy it used. With the 6 movie pack, at least you'll know, the movie will be in it's OAR for sure. But if you want to pay the extra $25.00 for the Korean release, just to get the one movie, be my guest. I'm just trying to save you money!

I do agree that, Echo Bridge blu-ray releases have been mediocre, or subpar. But periodically, they've released some very decent blu-ray movies, with good A/V quality, and Equilibrium ( that's featured on the 6 pack) is one of them... $25.00 is quite a bit of savings to anyone! You can buy another blu-ray, or something else. It's your call

YesAsia now has the JP release for $55.49 shipped. Still high, but it was $61.99 a few months ago and then $65 for a long time before that.

Has anyone tried contacting Echo Bridge and asking for a standalone release of the film with the OAR and the superior audio?

You're welcome to try. The High-Powered Action Pack is only $14.95 on Amazon, which also comes with The Lookout (same PQ/AQ from Disney release).

Good thread. I had the Alliance SteelBook for a while but was bothered by the open matte/cropped picture.

Just picked up the 6-pack for cheap from an Amazon seller. Going to swap discs with the one in the steelie and have an all-around better package.

You will be impressed. It has the best AQ in the world and the best PQ other than the JP disc. If you want the extras just look to the U.S. R1 DVD.

I'm doing the same thing with the standard US case, I'll just pretend the disc already in there is a bonus disc. I can't stand the thought of one of my favorite movies in a cheapo collection like that. It's a real shame there is no definitive US standalone release of this film with top notch transfer OAR, HD audio and all the goodies. Maybe some day..

Did the same thing, only I swapped the Alliance disc with the Jpn release for the best overall package.

(if anybody wants to see it, I'll post pics later on )

You almost have the best package. The audio with on the 6 pack is slightly better than the JP disc.

Yeah I know the audio is supposed to be better, but I still would rather have better PQ than audio since I don't have the greatest surround sound setup to fully enjoy the extra omph it would provide.

So I received the Miramax 6 pack action film collection. I have to say the Equilibrium transfer is pretty damn good. And it's nice to see the film in its OAR. Still hoping for a nice standalone release of this film on a BR50 and pristine transfer through.

Unless you want to pay nearly $60 for the JP disc I highly doubt there is going to be any other way to have that wish granted.
