Could someone who owns one of these remotes give me some feedback on it. Trying to decide if I should purchase one or not. Thanks. Also looking at the 1000, I own a ONE but accidently but my knee on it last night and killed the screen. It still works but the screen is non-functional and looks bad.

Ive had my 1100 since April, Great bday gift to myself. I absolutely love it!!! I bought the Lutron Maestro light switch so I can control it with my remote and now I'm looking for ir controlled ceiling fans. All my devices work the setup takes a little bit of time but there is nothing better than to have 1 remote control everything you need it to control. The price is kind of steep but since ive set it up there isn't a single regret. Oh and you can customize icons for your favorite channels. So all mine have their Network logo Loooove IT!!!!!!!

If you really like the ergonomics of the 1000, have no need for RF, and can swing the price, the 1100 quality is up to par with the 1000 as I understand it. |

i've had the 1100 since it came out. i'm very pleased with it compared with other units. affordability and self programming. otherwise URC and others really require an installer to program your controller. i hate waiting on people and then get charged $150-300 depending on the company, where you live, etc. obviously harmony is easy to program. if my dad can do his 880 i got him. 1100 is no different. other than you can get into more things. do IR commands and RF all in one macro. add more RF units as I have one dedicated to my projector and then another RF unit in my equipment room. and the 1100 is a higher processor than the 1000. so while i like pronto and URC and others....their programming language is much more difficult...if you can even get at the software to do it. each RF unit has 4 plugins that allow 2 eyes per plugin...so 8 devices controlled per RF unit.

I was finally able to configure my Harmony 1100 and all in all i'm very pleased with it. Still need some configuration here and there, but it's a joy to press one single button and the proyector, HT, BD player and air acondicioner start all together.
I agree the design of the remote making you use both hands, and the lack of common buttons found in regular remotes make it a bit tedious some times, guess i just have to get used to it. |

I love mine!
My only complaint is that the "Help" button at the top that you use if something fails to turn on properly can be incredibly difficult to hit correctly.

If you liked the ergonomics or are just used to the feel of the haromony one I would go for the harmony 900 over the 1000 or 1100. The 900 has both RF and IR it works and feels just like the one and it is just a great remote. I have not owned the tablet style 1000 or 1100 but I had a chance to play with one at a local fry's electronics and the complete lack of teactile physical buttons (save for a couple like volume or channel up down) it was a no go for me having to spend more time focusing on the huge bright lcd screen for all my main functions instead of just pressing the buttons by feel like the 900. But they were all very functional and excellent remotes for their respective designs.
Thanks, T
