Amazing film that should look great on blu. I'm torn - I hate paying so ch for one title so what are the odds this gets released outside of the US like say Philadelphia.

This has been on my wishlist for some time now. Again, I'm disappointed that it isn't getting a wide release, but I will reluctantly pick it up. This is a visual spectacle, it should look absolutely great on BD.

Visual and aural spectacle indeed. Though the narrative seemed a bit muddled at times and the whole thing with the boy being the kinda viewer/Greek chorus was a bit too "outta the box" for me. This would be a wonder to behold.

They've been licensing Fox titles for years now.

To name a few:

Journey to the Center of the Earth
Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines
The Fury
Enemy Mine

I remember that i didn't like this film.
it felt like a parody.
(although, it's visually impressive I agree)

It definitely wasn't a parody. It was a very theatrical prouction, with a lot of flair and some modern revisions of Shakespeare's tragedy play. It was directed by Julie Taymor, who was the director of The Lion King musical among other things.

Yes, I know Julie Taymor directed it, and her husband Elliot Goldenthal wrote the exceptional score!
I guess i'm not so much into modernistic look on classic plays.

Figured I'd mention this too since I only found out like a month ago: For anyone who watched Breaking Bad, the actress (Laura Fraser) who played Lydia stars as the daughter of Titus,

Dude, so weird that this just got announced. We were discussing this play yesterday in class and I remembered how I've not seen this film, but really want to. I'm sure Jessica Lange is amazing as always.

This is good news.

I wish they could put it in a copper case like the DVD. It was a thick case, but pretty unique, and it complimented the movie well

I can't see there being a huge demand for this, so 3,000 copies is probably about right. Not that it isn't a good film, but most people I talk to have never heard of it.

Sadly that is true with many people today...having never heard of many films before the 80's it seems. I'm just thrilled that lesser known, classics, foreign and independent (along with mainstream) films are getting a little TLC on blu

I wonder whether they will port any of the extras? I might consider updating my old DVD. I find it to be any of the more interesting recent Shakespeare adaptations
