Michael Mann...

How about some Enzo Castellari or someone with some talent...

Yeah, I don't necessarily find Mann fully engaging either. But this would be a good time to revisit the movies of his that I own, and to give the ones I didn't think I liked another chance.

In fact, I remember loving Collateral. Heat will probably be the biggest highlight though; everybody seems to love it. I thought it was pretty long and slow when I first saw it, but it might grow in me with the second viewing.

Well Mann got the most nominations so its obvious he does have talent and people like his films. I think he is a great director and I cant wait to see his other films that I havnt seen, even the one with DDL haha. Got Em!!

You should definately check out Last of the Mohicans. That's one of my wife's favorite movies. DDL is awesome in it too. And the last 20 minutes is so emotional and mesmerizing...awesome score too.

hahaha i hope this is a joke. i love some of Casterllari's films like Heroin Busters, Day of the Cobra and The Big Racket but the majority of his movies are total garbage. Inglorious Basterds and Keoma are ok, but his Mad Max/Escape From NY rip-offs are awful. hes nowhere near as consistent as Mann.

You should have no problems with everything apart from The Keep - I'm not sure what the situation is like with it in America (whether it's readily available on home media or what) but here it's very hard to get hold of, it seems.

Pre-orders: The Wicker Man Steel, Star Trek XI Zavvi Steel, 12 Angry Men, Raising Arizona, La Notte, The Sand Pebbles, Patton, The Great Escape, The Murderer Lives at 21, Les Miserables Digibook, One Hour Photo, Brides of Dracula, Evil of Frankenstein, Blow Out and The Last Temptation of Christ.

People should check out Mann's Crime Story. It's on DVD thru Netflix.
