That's not what my list is about. There are plenty of digitally shot movies that are shown in 4K in the theaters. The problem is that many of them only receive 2K digital intermediaries. If they get 4K or higher DIs then they are added to my list.

Yes, but the information is best verified by using a combination of Deluxe and IMDB.

Another to add: Gone Girl

Quote:
Negative Format Redcode RAW
Cinematographic Process Digital Intermediate (4K) (master format)
Redcode RAW (6K) (source format)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2267998/...ef_=tt_dt_spec

A more in depth talk:

http://postperspective.com/gone-girl...chers-path-6k/

Quote:
Gone Girl was shot at 6K (6144×3160), mastered in 5K (5120×2133) with 17% extra resolution for creative VFX and scaled down to a 4K (4096×1706), which is 45% smaller than the 6K source.

DCPs
Theatrical DCP’s of Gone Girl were rendered out in 4K and 2K formats. “What’s cool is Fox is being really progressive,” says Cioni enthusiastically. “They are taking a 5K Digital Source Master (DSM), that’s the uncompressed archive master, and that’s great. It’s a DSM because the actual negative, the actual Red files, have no value anymore because they’re not stabilized, composited or extracted. The DSM is your negative that you’ll go back to if someone wants to do something new to it.

“Gone Girl is the world’s first 6K DI feature and this is the world’s first 5K DSM,” says Cioni. “But we couldn’t have done it without the help of Quantel and Adobe as well as David and his team of artists who aren’t afraid to keep pushing the boundaries.”
2K is for the VFX/CGI/special effects. Rest of the movie is in 4K.

Another list with 4K movies with more Sony info. It also confirms Expendables 3 was indeed 4K.

Saw 10th is getting a 4K release.

Quote:
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first release, this 4K remaster breathes new life into the origin of a massively successful global franchise. Two chained men (Leigh Whannell, Cary Elwes) awake in a subterranean lair, each armed with instructions via a cassette tape on how to escape.

These were shot with film. This list is for digitally shot movies.

Whoops, my bad, I should have known that. I was getting overexcited. But I am sure there now more movies to add, from the Sony List I gave you.
