Just got this game over the weekend, was super excited to play it. Played it for 3 hrs and i hate it! Buggy, glitchy, the story seems spotty and just boring so far but its early, the environment from what i have seen so far doesn't stand a chance compared to ACII and Brotherhood, in those games the city seemed "alive", this one seems like a lack of detail and just missing something.... Ubisoft really needs to get back in line with this series...

thats my rant on this... unless i start hearing about good reviews from this series, im done with them...

Once you get to New York you will be complaining that the city is too alive since you will be getting chased non-stop!

I know you had complained of that before and I was kind of ready to be annoyed, but I didn't find New York to be any worse than Boston or any other place.

I still haven't bought King Washington. I just haven't been excited about it at all. Maybe if I hold out I can get all the episodes at a discount.

You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you. They will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders.

I have one other issue (well many but one to talk about haha), it seems to me that there are very few combat animations that occur, it seems very very repetitive to me. Meaning when fighting with a sword, it seems all he does is swing it around and stab to kill the guy, and that's basically it. Does this change with different weapons or something? Its boring me to death!

Nevermind, this got better with time but the game as a whole sucks compared to the others... Too much traveling. They need to stick with their old format of building upon the current city you are in, not doing all this frontier and hunting garbage that takes away from that... And it also leaves you with no want or reason to do the side missions... Weak!

Yeah this game IMO is definitely the weakest of the entire series. Another major problem with it for me is that I just didn't care that much about the main character (Connor) the way I did for Altair and Ezio. I'm probably going to take a chance and pre-order the next one and keep my fingers crossed that they get their act back together.

I've played all of the following games in recent weeks/months, pretty much back-to-back-to-back and the only one I think was weaker overall than AC3 is Crysis.

AC3
Halo 4
Dead Space 3
Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Tomb Raider
Crysis
God of War: Origins Collection
God of War: Ascension
Bioshock Infinite

Its amazing to see all the complaints.

Many criticized the main narrative, but I would argue that the main narrative is far and away this games strong point. Its the sidequests and extras that are so week and frustrating that brings the game down.

I think the main narrative was alright, but it got too lost and buried by all the busywork/side quests that really weren't worth your while when all was said and done. I could have probably easily knocked 15-20 hours off my play time for this game if I had just stuck to the story without getting sidetracked by all that uselessness.

Oh yes, I beat this game very quickly because the game never draws you into doing the side quests... My favorite in the past games was finding the Glyph's as that drew you in because you could essentially unlock a hidden piece of story... I also liked those little puzzles you did in brotherhood??This game really had none of that and I agree, the story really was blah to me.. Enzio, I really felt like he had a purpose and you grew with his character... The game needs to stop trying to be like Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption and focus on the city you are in, not traveling all over the place which is pointless... I liked how in the old games you start with a city that is somewhat empty and you are able to open shops, banks..... and eventually it becomes lively and active. This also had none of that.

I agree with all of this. I stopped at 50% because I grew frustrated with the apparent pointlessness of the side quests. I got tired of taking 4 steps (load times are yuck) just to go from the homestead to the next step in my mission.

I'm sure I'll finish it up soon.
