And Army of Darkness...I just don't get the fascination with it.

It's not scary or gory and it never made me laugh.

If you're watching horror films for the acting, your going to be disappointed 80% of the time. Especially the 80s stuff.

Yes I did.

Was that wrong?

...should I not have done that?

Even by 80s horror movie standards, the acting in the original is pretty bad.

Like porno movie bad.

...not that I would know anything about that.

Bruce Campbell's acting in ED2 is 100% Oscar-worthy. He was just amazing and stunning.

I love Evil Dead II...but the fact you're serious about this is not shocking.

I'm not a massive Army of Darkness fan but the first two are amazing so shush.
I prayed for the death of Heather Chandler many times and I felt bad every time I did it, but I kept doing it anyway. Now I know you understood everything. Praise Jesus. Hallelujah.

Yes, I'm serious. His performance was totally mindblowing. And there was some drama in that as well: look at the beautiful sequence in which he "fights back" his possession and becomes normal again.

It's not a conventional movie, and NOT only "conventional acting performances" must be Oscar-worthy. Cinema is cinema, regardless the genre.

I bought the steelbook version of the original at Target today.

It was only $7.50, so I figured...why not?

The acting is like deep-fried spam dipped in doo-doo butter, but it's a damn scary movie.

Evil Dead II is like the first Evil Dead meets The Three Stooges.

I know some people really love that, but I'm not one of them.

...it does have some pretty funny moments in it though.

I watched the original last night for the first time in a while.

It was better than I remembered.

As far as 80s horror movies go, this is one of the better ones.

One thing I was frustrated by: they have this really cool theme music playing on the main menu of the blu-ray, but I think it only shows up once in the actual movie.

They should've used it more.

...that music is awesome.
