I only have an iPad 2, so it's really not that great for pictures. But the werewolf is almost always in CGI (there is a scene, maybe two, were we can see a shot of the beast and it's an animatronic or a man in a suit version). The shape of the werewolf is great, like a huge wolf, and he move really fast, but the so-so CGI make it look fake.
But when I watched the movie, I simply ignored the CGI quality and enjoyed the story for what it was. One another positive note, the special make-up and the bodies/guts are great! |

Just watched it. Not bad for DTV. I like these types of horror films anyway. The werewolf looked pretty cool.

Christ, the price needs to drop on this. $25 at Best Buy. Target didn't even get it. Not even attempting Wal-Mart on this.

I don't know what the heck Universal was thinking! Charging $25.00 for a direct to video movie is outrageous. Eventually, it'll go down in price, but I wouldn't pay no more than $12.00 for it. It's the same price at Walmart as well.

Just watched this on NetFlix Instant. Unless you are a die hard fan of werewolf films, I say don't waste your money on the Blu Ray and just watch it streaming. A bare minimum effort in all aspects with no substantive atmosphere, scares, or excitement of any kind. The werewolves were bland CGI as well. After the first five minutes the movie really didn't keep my attention at all.
Honestly, this movie makes me appreciate The Wolfman a bit more (to be fair, I had already embraced it as a guilty pleasure...the scene where the wolfman terrorizes through London is awesome). |

Trust me there are much worse werewolf movies than this. I didn't think it was great but it was not awful. There were some fun characters especially Steven Bauer's. There are much bigger budgeted movies that are way worse than this movie. I do agree though the price should be way lower than it is.

This guy's review really nails it for me. There is not one redeeming quality to this movie. And, I agree that The Wolfman IS a guilty pleasure. |
