Default Should I Go Pressed or DVD-R?

Just wanting to get some input here. I'm planning on getting my studio up and running here in the next few months to a year. Blu-rays will be pressed, but since I don't really care that much for the DVD format anymore, would it probably be best to go the MOD route and do MOD on my site and Amazon?

Mailed on demand I'm assuming, and no that just makes your product look like a crappy DIY art project.

I would just go BD, until you get a lot of people asking for DVDs (if it happens), and take it from there. DVD-R (instead of pressing) could save you a lot of money, I assume, which can be spent on expanding the BD releases. If there's no demand, then I guess there's no point in offering an on demand service, which means there's no real demand for pressed DVDs either, I would assume. Let it be said that I'm not a business major though.

What kind of studio? What kind of content?

Unless there is strictly cutting edge cinematography and big budget entertainment quality to your work, or publication of other's works, than why dismiss DVD as a medium?

Regardless, if you want to put forth a professional image you should go press and satisfy customers with quality discs.

The best thing would be to do Dual format editions: Blu-ray + pressed DVD. This way you capture both markets and deal only with one SKU. Also, it is a lot easier to market your product.
