Here is the reply from another thread a posted to you:
We ended up getting a Samsung 43" Plasma 450 Series TV. It was to place above our fire place wall mount. Even though it is 720p I think the picture is excellent and sitting back 13 ft we agreed that we couldn't tell a difference between 720p and 1080p 43" and under. The price was amazing and we walked away well under budget. I'm happy with the decision so far. We already have a Olevia 47'' 1080p LCD TV that we got 4 years ago so we have a couple options at our house and a bigger TV wasn't the main factor in the purchase. To add to what I already said... We have the Olevia in the den and at some angles we sit 7ft away from it. It may be just the TV but the imperfections are more noticeably when you get in the 47" and higher screen size. It probably is too big for the room but it is probably the most enjoyable place to watch TV in the house. Another factor is that it is on a stand eye level. The Samsung is on a wall mount and we sit about 13ft away that I mentioned already. Personally I think the farther you sit away the better the picture looks but a 47" would not look bad in it's place. We just didn't have the space. I would just make sure not to get a TV too big especially if it is a small room. If you do get a 51" TV I would make sure it is 1080p. |
