Default True Lies and The Abyss

There was a time when we were getting updates from the Digital Bits regarding the potential release of these movies, but even Bill Hunt has gone silent. Obviously Cameron isn't talking either, so has any one attempted to go directly to the studio for comment?

I contacted 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment a few months ago. They claimed they had no information regarding a pending release for either film. I then contacted James Finn (Executive Marketing VP @ Fox Home Entertainment) and received no reply.

Someone go contact Linda Hamilton to open up a can of whoopass on his butt...I'm sure she would have no problem with that.

She's still too busy living off that Titanic $$$$ she got from the divorce. Try the other ex-wives, or better yet call Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. I bet she's still holding a grudge from the The Abyss; might kill two birds with one stone.

Why is she still holding a grudge about Abyss?

Didn't she nearly drown filming it? I think it's mentioned on the documentary on the DVD.

No, it's Ed Harris who nearly drowned IIRC. But she still has less than fond memories of it, not least for the harrowing resuscitation scene.

The part where Ed Harris is dragging her body back to the rig after she drowns was done for real. That means Mary Elizabeth was really being dragged by Ed while holding her breath and having to act like she just drowned. Talk about commitment.

Good doco that. I much prefer that Cameron, the guy who floods an abandoned nuclear power station and covers the surface with beads to simulate the deep ocean, than the guy who wants to make another two or three Avatars.

Well it's getting released in 3D soon so it's a safe bet that a new transfer will be made.

Thanks, somehow I've missed that. Fingers crossed for a 2D BD release too!
