Can anything be updated at this point? Like if it's discovered that some of the unknowns are upscaled, restored, etc.

OP no longer posts here. Have managed to compile such a list for pre-60s animated shorts. Rather than hazard a guess at which are upscales, I've denoted "old restorations" that appear to use the same underlying master for the Treasures DVDs as such. Also made a note of which ones have encoding issues (aliasing, combing etc.).

HD (new restoration)
[Show spoiler]1928 - Steamboat Willie (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)*

1933 - Ye Olden Days (Robin Hood)
1935 - On Ice (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1936 - Alpine Climbers (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1936 - Thru The Mirror (Alice In Wonderland)
1939 - The Hockey Champ (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites, Mickey's Christmas Carol)

1941 - The Art Of Skiing (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites, Mickey's Christmas Carol)
1942 - Donald's Snow Fight (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1947 - Rescue Dog (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1947 - Chip & Dale (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1949 - Winter Storage (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)
1949 - Toy Tinkers (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites)

1951 - Corn Chips (Donald Duck's Christmas Favorites, Mickey's Christmas Carol)
1952 - Pluto's Christmas Tree (Mickey's Christmas Carol)
1953 - Working for Peanuts (Disney Digital 3D Showcase Disc)

*Strictly speaking, this particular restoration debuted on the Oswald Treasures DVD in 2008, but since it's based off a 4k scan of the original negative, I've lumped it in with the other new, OCN-derived restorations.

HD (old restoration)
[Show spoiler]1922 - Little Red Riding Hood (Beauty and the Beast) [aliasing]
1922 - The Four Musicians of Bremen (Beauty and the Beast) [aliasing]
1922 - Puss in Boots (Beauty and the Beast) [aliasing]
1922 - Cinderella (Beauty and the Beast) [aliasing]
1929 - The Skeleton Dance (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)

1932 - Flowers And Trees (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)
1932 - Babes In The Woods (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)
1934 - The China Shop (Beauty and the Beast) [severe aliasing]
1934 - The Flying Mouse (Dumbo)
1934 - The Goddess Of Spring (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)
1934 - Grasshopper And The Ants (A Bug's Life) [combing]
1934 - Playful Pluto (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)
1935 - Music Land (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast)
1936 - Elmer Elephant (Dumbo)
1937 - The Old Mill (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)

1940 - Bone Trouble (Lady And The Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure) [combing]
1942 - Pluto Junior (Lady And The Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure) [combing]
1946 - Pluto's Kid Brother (Lady And The Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure) [combing]

SD
[Show spoiler]1933 - The Night Before Christmas (The Santa Clause) [edited]
1936 - Three Blind Mouseketeers (The Rescuers / The Rescuers Down Under)
1937 - Little Hiawatha (Pocahontas / Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World)
1937 - The Old Mill (Bambi)
1938 - Brave Little Tailor (The Sword In The Stone)
1938 - Merbabies (The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea)

1941 - Lend A Paw (Oliver And Company)
1946 - Bath Day (The Aristocats)
1946 - A Knight For A Day (The Sword In The Stone)

1950 - Puss Cafe (Oliver And Company)

I don't have Bambi, so I am unable to confirm whether On Ice and Canine Caddy are new restorations or ports of the Treasures masters.

Wow, making a new post on the same day one year ago when someone last made a post (and that was me!).

Anyway, I've decided to take a stand and make a petition to finally release the Disney shorts on Blu-ray:

I'm pretty sure they're hanging on to them for their streaming service in 2019.

In terms of a library, Iger did not share exactly how far back the service would reach. However, he did mention that the app would include a collection of shorts from the company and over 7,000 episodes of Disney television. It's unclear if content will cycle in and out of the app a la Netflix or the "Disney Vault" or whether the offerings will just continue to grow.

Which is insanely idiotic and frustrating to me. Luckily I have the DVD ANthology--but surely this would be one of the extras that any fan would want *the most*.

They are currently available to watch for free in Disney's "Mickey Video" app (both the classic shorts and the newer shorts). I know the app is available for IOS devices (iPhone and iPad) and tvOS devices (Apple TV 4). I don't know about other devices. Great app if you love Disney shorts!

I know this is an old thread, but I would kill to have the Silly Symphonies on BluRay--they really are some of my all time fave pieces of animation, and some of them are masterpieces. I'm happy enough with the two DVD tins, but...

Supposedly if you have a blu-ray drive on your computer, you can get to the BD-Live extras since they are on the disc. I just don't know what all you have to do since I've heard this second hand.

Neat, thanks! Just watched some shorts on my phone. I'll have to check and see if it's available on Apple TV when I get home.

Yes, the app is available for the Apple TV 4 too. That's how I watch it on my TV.

The BD-Live bonus features were mostly the exact same features as the Fantasia Anthology, only without the spiffy menu and missing some of what was included originally. "Claire de Lune" is (was) even SD resolution, only shrunk down in a window on the BD-Live portal.

Anyway, looking forward to Fantasia coming back to Blu some day to address all this bonus feature nuttery. Would be very nice if "Claire de Lune" received some restoration and HD mastering. We can only wait and see what happens.

Wish Disney would at least put this stuff out on DVD again because I missed out on getting the Disney Treasures Goofy cartoon collection years ago and that thing goes for well over 100 bucks used.

Ward Kimball's Mars and Beyond is on the documentary "Roving Mars". I think it's in HD. Contains some of Disney's most avant garde stuff this side of Fantasia.

I wish it was a fresh HD master. I love all the Tomorrowland trilogy films. It looks for all the world the same transfer as the DVD, just presented upscaled in HD.
