Default A diamond,or a lump of coal??

I am putting together a two channel set up to listen to vinyl. I have to do this on the cheap. I have recently picked up a pair of Genesis Physic model 1 speakers on eBay for $41 shipped. I received them today,I think they sound great. My question is with the receiver I just purchased. It is a Proton 930. This I picked up for $44 shipped. I have found very little online about this receiver. I know it's rated at 30wpc,.02%thd,but not a whole lot more. Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Proton was the sister company to NAD in the 80's. It is mid-level equipment that many people liked & enjoyed. I have not personally auditioned it so I can't say anything from experience. If it works and you are happy with it then that's all that matters.

Don't know about the receiver but the Genesis Physics speakers were a score IMO. I have a pair of the model 1 in my garage (two channel) and a pair of 10s as mains in my HT. I've loved the sound of them since 1980. If you ever need replacement parts or just to see the history check Human Speakers, still making replacement parts to this day. I've picked up spare tweeters on e-bay as I prefer them to the new ones.
