i know this is an old question, but now is a good time to answer it.

24.99 is the lowest it has gotten according to the price tracker here at blu-ray.com. thats the price its at right now on sale at Barnes and Noble.

im thinking about upgrading from my Criterion DVD soon here. im just not sure if i should purchase at B&N at this price or it would be cheaper if i upgraded at BB (or if they even stock the title). ill have to do some investigating.

That's a great price. Being in Canada, I didn't have many options and got it for $28, but it's Kurosawa... No price is too high

There's an extra 30% coupon you can stack with Criterion titles. I don't think you'll find it cheaper than that.

Is this film split over 2 discs? Is there an intermission?

Intermission yes, but movie is on one disc. The intermission is about 10 minutes long and is built into the movie itself. Full film on disc 1 and all bonus features, save for commentary tracks, are on disc 2.

Thanks!!! Just ordered this set. Can't wait for it to arrive. I've never seen this film (in its entirety). Only the first 80 minutes or so.

What he said above

Thankfully unless it's a 3D 3hr-ish movie (Titanic), they can easily fit them onto one 50GB disc. Lawerence of Arabia is close to 4 hours and they fit it nicely onto one disc. Same with Gone with the Wind, I believe.

I sort of like the intermission, it gives a bit of authenticity to how the film originally ran. Of course, in no way did the original film EVER look like this to those that saw it in theatres!

At what point does the intermission occur? Halfway through?
