Proper LCD Mounting Height?

Just Purchased A Sony KDL-55HX850 Just wondering how high you usually mount your tv off the floor. i also get a sanus vlt15 wall mount.. any suggestions

Congrats on the new display School.

I have seen people say that it should be mounted to where the center of the TV is level with your eyes.

When I had mine mounted on the wall I had my eyes level with the bottom of the display. I liked it much better that way personally. You just don't want to go to high with it so you are looking up as to forcing you to tilt your head back while watching it.

What I did was cut a piece of cardboard the size of the screen & put it on the wall to see where it looked best & was most comfortable for me

The general consensus is that the center of the display should be at eye level from your prime seating location. Nothing bugs me more than seeing a display mounted above a fireplace.

Mine is set where the centre of the set is at my eye level while I am seated.
I think it has a better 'decorative look' when it is set higher but this isn't ideal for viewing so mine is down low where my little girl can put her hand's all over it!

The best Mounting Height would be eye level.

The best height is what's comfortable to you.
I tried mine at eye level and ended up raising it to where my eyes are even with the bottom. I usually watch sitting back in a recliner or a loveseat with my head tilted back a bit. At eye level I felt like I was trying to hold my head forward more.
