I saw this in the theater. I would buy this for the scene with the picture on the wall filling the room with water alone as well as it being the closest thing to a 3d Michael Apted film.

It's been awhile since I seen this (the week of release was when I saw it last). I'm going to have to go back and see it again to see what your talking about. I saw this on my Sony...I have yet to see it on my Epson. Maybe I will fire it up soon and see it again and post a opinion.

I do seem to remember liking the scene (towards the end) with the ocean.
PLEASE take a look at my NEW home theater gallery pics!!

I enjoyed it and it's better than flatness.

I disagree. A poor conversion of a film intended for 2d is not better then viewing it in 2d.

Need to rewatch this as i don't recall the 3D being that bad.
"Still in all, every night we does the tell, so that we 'member who we was and where we came from... but most of all we 'members the man that finded us, him that came the salvage. And we lights the city, not just for him, but for all of them that are still out there. 'Cause we knows there come a night, when they sees the distant light, and they'll be comin' home."

All the other comments are at least a couple of years old. What seemed okay at the time can be revealed as crap in retrospect. I went thru the same thing with Piranha.

Rewatched about 30 minutes of this yesterday. the 3D is very inconsistent which I guess we can blame on it being an early conversion. I definitely prefer the 3D to 2D though. The worst thing about this movie is the digital photography which really makes a lot of it look quite ugly and stick out like a sore thumb when compared to the first two movies.

Recently bought a sealed promo copy of this for $10, didn't buy this at full price since it's in the wrong aspect ratio but couldn't resist grabbing the promo when I saw it. True that's how the director wanted it, but he's still wrong.

Why is it in the wrong aspect ratio?

That's true for many German autoconversions but there isn't any Hollywood conversion so poor that I'd rather watch the 2D version - this is no exception. Even The Last Airbender looks better to me in 3D.
3D is not dead. What's dead is my interest in any new 2D formats or display technology.

yeah this one gets slammed but it's a lot better than Airbender or Clash of the Titans in 3D IMO.

If it's the aspect ratio the director wanted, then it's correct.
