Default UHF (1989) (25th Anniversary Edition)

It's coming in November.

http://comicbook.com/blog/2014/07/26...-blu-ray-in-n/

Shout! Factory will release UHF, "Weird Al" Yankovic's cult-classic comedy, to Blu-ray this November in celebration of the film's just-passed 25th anniversary.

UHF, which debuted in cinemas on July 21, 1989, was not a financial success during its theatrical run, but turned into a home-video smash. The film was an absurd send-up of all things '80s, including early MTV, Indiana Jones and Rambo.

Announced at the (still-ongoing) Shout! Factory panel at Comic Con International: San Diego, the UHF Blu-ray will be joined by a box set of additional material titled The Compleate Al.

You can see the complete and official announcement below. So far, Shout! Factory isn't totally sure what new special features may be added or how much of the most recent, feature-rich DVD set will be carried over to the new printing.

Awesome! Now, if they would just include the semi-documentary "The Compleat Al" as an extra feature (in it's entirety), all would be right.

And to think that I recall the era before its DVD release when it was impossible to find UHF at the video rental place since they usually got stolen...
Forget The Evil Dead; what George Lucas has done to Star Wars since 1997 is truly "The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror".

This is one of those movies I saw on TV a million times as a teenager/college student and love but never owned. I'll definitely have to buy this. Raul's Wild Kingdom is my favorite segment

Great news. By sheer coincidence I was watching some of his videos on YouTube awhile ago while on my exercise bike.
I'll have to run out to Spatula City and buy a new spatula for the occasion.

Absolutely amazing! The DVD was feature-rich and a really wonderful presentation of the film. Heck, even the menus were spectacular. If the BR was nothing but a straight port of the DVD with upgraded video and audio, I'd be delighted. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us.

Anything Al-related they release, DAY ONE. Absolutely Day One.

Shout rocks!

I want this badly and it's time to sell my old DVD.

Who else saw this in theaters 25 years ago? i did when i was a kid 3 times and i loved it, one of my all time favorite movies and comedies. I also hope they do a new 2k scan or something like that.
