Vudu/Walmart pre-purchases are only available in store.

I will go to a walmart tomorrow and see if the preorder has a vudu digital copy to view the movie prior to the release date of the DVD/bluray

Well, at this moment there is no walmart/Vudu preorder cards for The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug. Hopefully in a week or two they will start releasing these cards (if they even plan on having one for this movie). Also, there is a no redemption page for such preorder on Vudu's site for this movie.

If Walmart/Vudu do release a preorder card, hopefully my store will actually get them in.

Quick question... I know it's Vudu unrelated but does anyone know if Target ships preorders early too, like Walmart/Vudu does?

They do not.

Last spring I ordered the Hobbit (it came with a LEGO figure); I didn't receive a ship confirm until that Tuesday evening, and it got here on Friday. Pretty lame.

Mine too. Which means I'll easily get it before its release date which is technically next Friday, not Tuesday.

Default Target Pre Orders

Does Target carry their Vudu cards in store like Wal-Mart or is it ordered online only? I have never seen Vudu pre order cards in Target like Wal-Mart does...

Thanks for the help in advance

Vudu is owned by Walmart so your not going to see Vudu cards in Target. Target recently started Target Ticket which is a competitor to Vudu, as of yet they have not offered in store cards like Vudu's preorder but I bet we will see them in the future.

So I went to Walmart tonight to see if they had any Frozen pre-order cards. I already pre-ordered it on Amazon, but if I can watch it tonight on Vudu, I'd cancel my Amazon order. My Walmart had 2, both opened. Great, I thought, someone opened them to steal the codes.

I wasn't sure if the code was activated at purchase. I figured I'd try to enter the code before buying it, and see if I get "This code is already redeemed" or "This code is not activated until purchased." Instead, I got "Congratulations! You just added Frozen to your Vudu account!" So I bought it, and we're watching it now.

That happened to me as well. Sometime people open them up to see if there is a disk in there even though it states it does not.

That'd be smart, but most people are "spontaneous" buyers and Walmart has a better chance selling them in store than on the website. It'd make it easier for people like you and i and everyone on this thread to just get it on-line, but i dont see them pulling from the store and going live online only. It'd be good to have both options though!

Quick question on the pre orders, do you receive ultraviolet rights when you buy these or just a vudu copy?
Do you have a digital copy code mailing list?
Please PM me!

For UV Eligible Movies - yes, the preorder digital copy is a UV copy
Disney or other non UV content - Vudu copy only

Thank you sir! Was reluctant to buy vudu only since I'm in Canada and my service isn't the greatest regarding vudu. But if it's UV for non Disney titles then I will be pulling the trigger.

It's very possible someone stole the code from it, but they wouldn't get very far. The codes aren't activated until the purchase has been completed.
