I love to shop at Walmart but they are sometimes unreliable when it comes to shipping to store...

Actually checked this out again in 3D and it's better than I remember. There's actually a lot of great 3D in establishing shots and there's some clever framing. Not every shot is amazing 3D, especially in the indoor scenes. But the action scenes, especially the web-swinging is amazing. Some of the best 3D around. Unfortunately the movie isn't 75% web-slinging and it does get slowed down by the whole origin story.
My biggest issue is that the open matte scenes from the IMAX presentation had much better 3D because the extra vertical space allowed for more pop and more depth. A lot of things are cut off at the top and bottom which can break the effect.

Hopefully the next film is presented entirely in 1.78-1.9 and that it is a bit more faster paced(while being edited more slowly. The best 3D in this film was during longer uninterrupted shots)
I'm a big aspect ratio nut, but for 3D I always prefer open mate(though I'm totally against cropping) and it worked so well for Titanic and Avatar and Prometheus(in theaters)

They had it shipped on time, but no one could find the box in the warehouse due to the deluge of Black Friday crap.

I liked the 3D well enough when I saw it in theaters that I put my 2D copy up for sale and got the 3D version when it dropped to $19.99 on Thanksgiving. Sure, a lot of the 3D was reserved for the action scenes, but I think it's still worth it for them alone. It's not Avatar or Prometheus, but some of the 3D in the action scenes is downright awesome (especially when he swings way out of the screen).

I understand some people's complaints, but I think anything that has showcase scenes is worth watching in 3D.

OK so my copy did finally arrive yesterday and i watched this last night. I definitely enjoyed it, although there were plenty of things i wasn't crazy about. It's too long (No movie like this needs to be over 2 hours in length) and has perhaps too many slow spots.

Of course the stuff everyone here is talking about is the 3D. I agree that it is conservative during dialogue and story scenes, however i do think the 3D looked very nice here in these moments. However it really took off during the action scenes and was fantastic 3D!! Looked absolutely wonderful during all the swinging moments etc.

Really looking forward to checking out the extras now.

Glad you liked it, reviews seem to think the 3D is bad in this, will still buy it when it comes down thou.

Did not like this movie. Brought absolutely nothing new to the Spiderman franchise that was not done already by the first 3 movies, and was plain boring at times. The 3D being sub-par in this movie just cements this as a no purchase.

I don't hate it but I agree. They should have just gone the James Bond route and just changed the casting telling the story around a new villain. There was no need to tell the origin again. If they want to bring villains back they shouldn't kill them in the first place.

Ignore the naysayers mate! The 3D is very underrated here and honestly, the swinging scenes are 100% demo material.

As evidenced by the 3D CGI, Marc Webb and his crew are very talented and creative, and I will be excited to see what improvements they can make to the sequel's live-action 3D.
Orange ,

Simply given past sentiments as to native stereoscopy, I don’t think some people here are going to be fundamentally happy, based upon the consequences to post production reflected by this pic posted by Marc W. on Day 1….

I saw this a day or two ago, and was pretty disappointed. First, due to the grain, I'm not sure why he would choose film when such a large amount of digital effects are going to be integrated with the live-action. Second, if he needs help creating better 3D with larger interaxials, taking advice from an experienced, on-set stereographer seems like the way to go, rather than handing it off to a conversion studio.

However, I suppose pain-stakingly converted 3D can be more satisfying than flat-ish native 3D. The best 3D in TASM was the animated effects. If they can hit those highs again, the sequel's 3D might end up better than TASM's. Still, it's kind of a bummer and feels like we're taking a step backward. I was hoping Hollywood was on their way to ending the comic book conversion fest.

I laughed at his New Year's resolutions:

It's a real shame that the most visually striking piece was left out of the final film. It can't even be found in the deleted scenes.

Screenshot from the teaser trailer :

I would have loved it if that pier scene was included in the Coldplay montage.
