Help, anyone know the difference in these two versions? Would love to pick this up ASAP but can't find a reason the price is so different

The first release is from Criterion, which also contained a slipcover. The re-release is just a repackage from Warner in a standard case without any of the Criterion menus or markings.

So is the artwork wrong on the cheaper version? Still shows the criterion markings there.

I'm assuming content is the same?

The discs are the same, new distributor.

As said in this thread before... the Blu-ray was already nearly finished when Criterion requested to add it to their library. Thus, it is the only Paramount Criterion release to feature multiple language options and a standard keepcase. All other Paramount films handled by Criterion use the clear "thick" case and language opions are very limited to the original audio with optional English subtitles.
