Default Anyone have any idea when Sony will update their TV's with Dolby Vision

With the first Dolby vision discs coming out in June, does anyone know when Sony plans release their Dolby vision firmware update for their 2027 lineup? Is it around that time?

I'm sure it will be included in their 2027 lineup if it still exists .
For the 2017 line, I think it was the middle of 2017.

Thanks for the catch. Won't let me edit it for some reason. Mid 2017 would line up with the dispicable me dolbyvision blu ray then probably. Right?

Yes. Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 UHD BD is coming in June.

But no signs for Sony TV's supporting Dolby Vision.

At the Sony event here in Toronto last week, they said DV will be a firmware update in the next few months. They do not have the actual chip in the sets for DV but they have met the standards so Dolby has given the OK apparently.
Yeah, I Cosplay, Choo gots a problems wit dat?... it freakin' rocks!

Well it's been announced for sometime this year, just no solid date if that's what you mean.

DV vs HDR10 isn't cut and dry. Most displays currently cannot be calibrated in DV mode (grayscale and CMS), so if you have a pro calibrated HDR10 mode, chances are it will overall be more accurate in HDR10. I am in this category currently.

If you are just watching in stock modes, then I think DV will prob be better.

You think it's tied to HLG HDR also?

Thanks. So I would not even expect the players to see anything, IF they get it, before then.

No, Sony launched HLG with the rollout of the Android 7.0 update so Sony TVs with the X1 Extreme processors just got HLG HDR.
