Just porting over some news from the front page:

Quote:
Making its debut in high-definition, Attack Force Z boasts a brand new 4K scan and restoration from the film's interpositive, presented for the first time ever on 1080p Blu-ray in its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio along with the original uncompressed dual channel mono audio. Additional special features in the disc include "The 2-Men Debriefed", a 25 minute featurette that includes interviews with executive producer John McCallum and actors John Waters and Chris Haywood (presented in standard definition) a photo gallery and the film's original theatrical trailer.

Eric Wilkinson, MVD Entertainment Group's Director of Acquisitions and Sales shares his excitement about announcing this release...

"Previous home video versions of this film have looked sub-par. Umbrella Entertainment has done an amazing job restoring this film to its original glory. As a collector of physical media, myself, I'm happy to announce that Attack Force Z represents the first of many classic films on Blu-ray that MVD will be releasing in the near future."

Special Features and Technical Specs:
BRAND NEW 4K REMASTER of the film from original interpositive
Original uncompressed dual channel mono audio
'The Two-Men Debriefed' (SD, 25 mins) featurette with executive producer John McCallum and actors John Waters and Chris Haywood
Original Theatrical Trailer
Photo Gallery

I wonder if it's too late for them to get Sam Neil on camera for some comments/interview..

This will be interesting, have not seen this since the original VHS release, I do remember watching it, but I really have no memory of what it was like.

Ha I more than likely watched in on an old 48cm tv (Rank Arena I'd say)

I've never seen it, or I like you I don't remember anything about it. Dad tended to hire these actioners. My brother and I sat through most of them...some were too dull to endure.

Don't forget The Man From Hong Kong, which while the movie itself was fine, Stunt Rock had the anamorphic setting screwed up. Twice.

I love Umbrella, but man their QA department needs some work.

I've read that a Bruce Lee imitator originally posed for the ATTACK FORCE Z cover. Here is a picture of his previous work:

I watched it on the weekend.

As I said on Facebook, overall it looks very good. Poorly lit scenes are problematic, but more than likely due to the film stock used in those dark scenes.

The movie is OK. Perhaps it's played too straight to have much lasting cult appeal. Great to see it at last.
