Nevermind, I found the website. Might help if I actually tried searching a little harder.

Which is the original?
The DVD does have a big yellow push compared to the blu-ray, which is more blue, but also this particular shot seems to have a sunset filter on it, just like the infamous helicopter shot in Escape From New York that was originally filtered to look like a sunrise shot, but on the Shout Factory release, they didn't have or use that filter for the transfer. Something similar happened here to go from that sepia/golden hour tone to a bright blue sky.

Btw, I have this disc now, from JB-HiFi, who were able to get more in from their supplier. Very excited to check this out for the first time in many years!

All the other artifacts are analog in nature and inherent to the print; and, frankly, except for the scene of the farmers on the hillside before the village attack there aren't many of those.

AQ is decent. I have an older receiver, so I have to rely on BD Info scans to verify what's on a disc, but my AnyDVD HD is out-of-date and because of that it won't allow BD Info to scan the disc properly. Hopefully, someone else can confirm the audio specs shortly.

Anyone knows????????

I just picked this up. Looks great up until the scene change at 11:51, when the picture suddenly becomes horizontally squeezed, so everyone's a bit skinny-squished. But then when the scene changes again at 14:53, when young Dar dissolves into adult Dar, everything's fine again. It's strange -- the squeezed-looking head of the boy morphs into the normal head of Marc Singer, and the picture doesn't appear to unsqueeze all together, so perhaps it was either intentional or a flaw in the original photography. Unfortunately I have no other copies handy to compare

Might have something to do with the fact that the film began shooting in 2.35:1 with one cinematographer - and ended up being shot in 1.85:1 with another, different DP.

I understand that the early Scope material was ultimately cropped.
JVC X35 projector.
130" 2.37:1 OZTS Majestic Scope Screen.

Didn't know this existed and now looks to be out of print. And no other region release seems to be on the horizon. Bummed.

Really surprised it's not been released anywhere else. Still holding out hope for a US release though. Until then, I'll stick to my DVD.
