Default Anybody else have a new Pioneer HTIB

Just bought this at Walmart for $268.00 plus tax. I think its a decent sound system. Last march I bought an Onkyo S7409 home theater system from Amazon. It had a recall from Onkyo because the one of the speaker terminals was broken. It also would drop audio for a couple of seconds on Dolby Tru HD tracks.

I returned that Onkyo system because I didn't want to take any chances with a crap system, even though it sounded amazing.

This Pioneer system doesn't sound too bad. I can definetly tell the difference between my 8 year old Sony HTIB that can only decode DTS and Dolby Pro II. However Im using this Pioneer for a small bedroom. Would not recommend it for a living room. Not powerful enough.

Curious what other people thought of it if they had it.

I just recently purchased this same system from Walmart and was very disappointed. I thought the volume was way too low. I had to turn it up to 60 to even hear anything. It was so weak that I thought the system was faulty and exchanged it for a new one. Same performance. I called Pioneer and they said that's low quality is normal for their low end HTiB. So I returned it.

For a bedroom, it will probably work well though. I went out on a limb and was looking for a bargain for my humble HT basement.

I have had this system for a week and I love it. I can only crank it up to 30 plus before I get told to turn it the hell down, lol. My freind has one as well and he hooked it up to his Tower speakers and holy crap! Talk about sound. You said you wouldnt reccomend it for a living room? His is in his living room and it delievers enveloping sound for being in a big room. I love mine and he loves his as well and for the price you cant go wong.
