Hey guys ... I noticed that Season Two is in 16:9 whilst Season One was in 4:3 on Blu-ray, did they switch to 16:9 for Season Two or is the image cropped for 16:9?

Sorry if it's been mentioned and asked a hundred times!

Edit: Looking through the thread it looks like Season Two was the reverse of Season One, so it was made in 16:9 and cropped for 4:3 TVs. Good news!

Unless I misremember I think it was the opposite, both seasons were made in 16:9 but Season 1 was cropped to 4:3. I could be misremembering though, I just know both were originally formatted in widescreen by the creators.

JL Season 1 production was done to fit 4:3 TVs, but with matting in mind (ie keeping important information away from the top and bottom of the picture). While originally aired in full screen some later airings were in matted widescreen.

For JL Season Two, production was switch to 16:9, but pan and scan was used for full screen airings.

This page (while old and out of date) does a good job of explaining:

Batman: Well?
Martian Manhunter: I have no idea how to fly this vehicle.
Flash: What's this do? [pushes random button that causes the ship to fire at Wayne Manor, narrowly missing Alfred]
Batman: [through clenched teeth] That's-not-helping.
