Then just ignore the review section and focus on the transfer comments, technical info, and screenshots.

That being said, Im still gonna buy it. Scream Factory has been doing outstanding work lately.
Exactly how I feel on every point. I thought the film was strong but I don't know what they were thinking with that ending. I am guessing they just wanted a last minute scare like Carrie or Friday the 13th but it did not work. 3 reasons why I am still buying the film though. 1. Shout Factory is doing great things and want to support them 2.) The Three leading ladies 3.) Is was still a entertaining film and is worthy a multiple viewing.

Watched this Friday night and I must say it's not a movie I'll ever watch again. So if anyone wants to buy it from me let me know. I'll let it go for $15 or trade it.

What kind of films are you looking for? Any interest in Embodiment Of Evil (Synapse)?

Does it have the slipcover still? I'm interested.

So I'm watching this on Netflix. The bathtub scene has a naked Maren step in, but then she is wearing black panties in the water!

Is that a Netflix cut, or is that also on the blu?

Thanks!

Present on the VHS as well, but it's something you don't see in the properly framed version.

weird...I would think the vhs and netflix copies would take away from what was "framed", not add to it!

anyone out there with the blu?

Not weird at all. This movie was shot open matted using the whole 35mm frame, then when shown in the theater it's matted at the top and bottom to make the 1.85:1 framing. With this matting, the black underwear stated above will not be seen.

When the film was transfered for the VHS the whole 35mm frame in used which was the same framing as the old TV's, so then you will see more info on the top and bottom.

Here is a cool page about matting, http://www.widescreen.org/widescreen_matte.shtml

ah, cool! I always thought that when they "pan and scanned" that the sides were hacked off....didn't realize that they might open it up more vertically.

thanks!

I always liked this movie for years and i remembered when i was 5 when i rented this on video, i thought it was creepy. I had this on a blank tape with other stuff on it i recorded from a second VCR my family had when i was a 90s teen and over the last decade i yearned for a DVD release yet Scream finally announced it as i threw that tape away.

Decent picture no doubt but better than the bootleg DVDs fans held on for years and the extras are very good along with the decent audio.

Ernest Borgnine did a great performance in this movie as Isaiah and Michael Barryman as the mentally challenged/deformed Hittite, Sharon Stone was sexy in this one.

Are Hittites like related to the Amish/Hutterites or are they just counterfit Amish?
