Will Mad Max #1 still be spread over a BD and DVD, or is it all on the single BD now?

I think I'm going to wait to see if they rerelease this set with vouchers to the next film that's being released next year with Tom Hardy. Not sure yet.

According to the picture posted, just the Blu-ray Disc from the Fox/MGM combo pack is in here. So the only extras are a commentary and Mad Max: The Phenomenon featurette.

Mad Max is the same disc (with new art) provided by Fox/MGM so it is Region A locked. The Road Warrior and Beyond Thunderdome are Warner who very, very, very rarely region locks titles so these are region free.

I also found it funny that the back lists special features for Mad Max and The Road Warrior but under Beyond Thunderdome it just says "First time on Blu-ray."

As well as some theatrical trailers. In my opinion, the Blu ports over all the important extras...The DVD had a trivia track that simply regurgitated much of the commentary and "Mad Max: The Phenomenon" doc info, as well as some brief TV spots, vehicle info/specs, and a useless Mel Gibson doc.

Yes, technically what that means, is that "Thunderdome" has no bonus features (other than the trailer) .

Yes, but if it weren't for the dub, I'd have missed out on some really great laughs. I think it's a riot. In fact, I've watched the film more with the dub than without it, just because it's more fun .

It's funny that you should mention that especially with you being an Australian member, because in the Australian section of this site many Aussie members seemed outraged that the U.S dubbed voices were missing for the local version when it was released a couple of years ago. The way I perceived it at the time is that the Australian members complaining preferred the U.S dubbed voices, almost as if they were ashamed of our accent as it was portrayed in the movie

I'd love to be proved wrong, though. I just don't see MGM doing a new, non-coded pressing of Mad Max.

From memory the drama started because it states on the back cover and in the audio menu setup options of the disc that it is included, however there was a fault with the disc and it wouldn't playback. Some members did want to check it out just for novelty purposes, though during it all I vaguely remember one Aussie member saying (which could have been mentioned in a different thread, not the actual Mad Max thread) that he wasn't a fan of films which have native Australian accents in them (including Mad Max) because he felt it sounds horrible and tacky (and often exaggerated), and makes us sound like "rednecks" to the rest of the world, where another member agreed with this. For the most part I think the majority of the guys were just a bit upset about Roadshows reply regarding the fault with the disc, and thought they were being dishonest about it and as usual didn't really seem to care. Though IMO there was a bit of an overreaction from some about the issue, carrying on about how we apparently always get screwed, which gave off a slight impression that the U.S dubbed track was of more value to those who were making these extreme statements. There were also a few "I'm never buying local releases again, I'm only going to import from here on in" comments thrown around as well.

I can understand to a degree because I want want I paid for (advertised features). And if I wanted to hear the US dub for curiosity sake I would be a bit PO'd. But I have never heard it nor am I very interested in hearing it.

I do also understand how annoying it is when the company reps are dishonest and rip us off.
