UK. I had to pay the return shipping but Amazon refunded this upon receipt of the damaged sets.
Incidentally, I mention it only in passing. I could always tell the judge it was a matter of confession...

Jesus Christ. Don't feel like going through that hassle, which is why I don't own the set yet. I suspected shit like this could happen with Amazon. Are there any other retailer that have this beauty and ships abroad?

With the new set coming out, I hope that means this set will drop the necessary amount for me to afford/want to buy it. Just having to wait 3 more months sucks, it's been hard for me not to buy this set yet. All the problems and the useless dvds made me wait, of course the price didn't help either.

Damn, I finally got this set and... what a piece of crap!!!

I mean, the set is kinda cute, but it's FAR FROM PERFECT!!!

Things I didn't like:

1 - You cannot take the discs out without touching and leaving fingerpints on them, and that's really annoying. I have the Hitchcock set from Universal UK, the one that has similar packaging, and the discs slide out easily. This one was poorly designed. What a shame!

2 - What the hell is wrong with those transfers? One movie is worse than the other. The Big Boss is the less damaged one - I can't even say it's the best one. Jesus, are those really HD quality? The first ten minutes of the third movie looks like an upconverted VHS - not even a DVD looks that bad. I presume this is the corrected set, as it is advertised, so I can only imagine how bad the old one must look. Really, really crappy!!!

Shout Factory literally ****ED UP one of the most waited collections in HD. This is not HD. The DVDs all get scratched when you take them out. The book is nice, but it's not all that fancy.

I mean, hell, this goddamn set is not worth 85 dollars plus import fees (I live in Rio de Janeiro). I wishe I had paid something around 40 dollars or less. I feel robbed - I pay so much and get so little in return.

I did that already, it is the corrected set.

I wonder where those transfers came from.

I can honestly say for a fact that these are the worst blu-rays I have ever seen so far.

I agree, removing the discs is a real pain! almost impossible not to get finger prints on them!

Regarding picture quality, The Big Boss looks the best of the lot! Not sure if it is just the source material or Fortune Star put some effort and money into cleaning this up!? and the rest they just did hardly anything!. The worst thing to me about them is the colour, Shout promised they would correct them but they didn't bother doing it with the re-run (new sku). I have the first set that has the upscaled films, the colours look much better!.

Unless some other company gets the rights to the films then this is the best we are going to get! It is all down to money at the end of the day...remastering isn't cheap!

Shout Factory could have gone all the way but they decided to take the easy option and rush the release!

Hmm, thanks for the answers, guys. I didn't have that information about the transfers.

Yes, The Big Boss looks the best of them all. I mean, I haven't seen Game of Death Yet - the Blu-Ray . com reviews lists this one as the worst one on the set. Well, when I bought the set, I thought only this one would be "bad", but I was deadly wrong. I would give ZERO to those transfers, except for The Big Boss that, even being far from perfect, it's acceptable.

I really didn't get that - all the movies are good, so all of them should have been restored.

I was thinking about returning it to Amazon to get a full refund, but, on second thought, I believe I'm gonna keep it just because I like these movies very much. Also because I don't know where else to get these films with a nice decent quality.

Bruce Lee deserved much, much better than that.

just got this from amazon.ca last week with upc code sticker on the outside with code 826663145960, which seems like the corrected set.

with the new version out, besides the dvd's that i dont really care about, is the extras and box worth it?

The best extras are on the DVDs, unfortunatelly.

The audio commentaries on the discs are just awful - quality bellow zero.

And the Game of Death disc is a disappointment - there are two versions available, the original (the worst one) and the Japanese version, which is a shorter version of the original one. I mean, less than 10 minutes of actual Bruce Lee footage... REALLY?! The only thing I liked about this disc is one extra, that montage with the original 40 minutes of footage shot while the Legend was still alive.

I wouldn't recommend this set to anyone, unless they REALLY NEED a Bruce Lee collection at this moment.
