Heck of it is, if I now switch that setting back to Bitstream (Mix), the 96kHz bitstreaming still works.

My replacement disc seems fine and displays 96/24 properly, but in the end, I can't actually hear any difference, at least not in a casual comparison.

Guess I can save money by not investing in a lot of hi-res audio.

I e-mailed and asked for my replacement disc today. I only very recently opened my digibook and found it to play 48 KHz audio. Hopefully they'll still send a replacement.

I have a question, if I order from Amazon now, do I get the corrected disc or still the defected one?

Definitely can hear the difference with a hi-res audio. But the 48khz version is still better than almost all movie soundtracks.

Is anyone aware if Warner will be shipping corrected versions to stores? Or will it only be available to those of us who are "in the know"? I ask because I have yet to pick up this title due to the audio error and would rather pick up a corrected version outright.

Picked up a corrected version from best buy a few months ago. They are out there. Edited to add it was March 4th when I picked it up. First thing I did when I got home was check the readings in the display and sure enough it was 96. I remember that it had the 96khz Dolby sticker on the plastic.

Trouble is the 48kHz had the sticker too.

I sent an e-mail to WB customer service about the replacement a few months ago and never got a reply. Anyone know a better way of going about this? Thanks.

I got my copy just last night from Union Square's Best Buy in Manhattan and, after checking it, I am happy to confirm that it has the 96kHz audio, indeed.

So it seems fixed copies have reached the brick & mortar retail level.

Of course, there's no outer indication, so your mileage may vary.

Ordered mine on April 28. Per post 518 (page 26), my disc ends with "740.2 01E" and reads as 96.0 kHz.

So you should be ok, hopefully!
