I'm pretty happy with the Monitor SUB 12.
I've also got a SUB 10 and together they're perfect for my small room.
6 + 3 = 9, but so does 5 + 4

I think a subwoofer from PSA would be way better value for you.
I hate to make it seem like I'm trying to sway someone away from Paradigm, but my next sub will be this one:

Somebody at AVS forum reported that the Signature series is being discontinued, so there will probably be discounts. Not sure if they will have a line replacing it. Their Concept 4f speaker is going to be around 30k a pair, so it's not exactly a replacement for Signature. It's more of a luxury line and a major step up.

I wonder if there will be a replacement?
I suppose Paradigm will have to put out something that has the Beryllium Tweeter that everyone raves about. The Sigs are absolutely gorgeous and I hope what replaces them is just as nice.
The Prestige line is very nice looking so whatever they do, I'm sure it'll awesome!

*Btw, your 100's and 690 are fn killer!

They might not. Prestige might be the sweet spot for them. Maybe the market for the Signature series isn't quite there anymore, so might as well go with a ultra luxurious brand for the odd person that can afford them. That's just my guess. I haven't heard of the beryllium tweeters before, but everybody seems to love it. I would love to be able to hear what they are like one day.

Thanks! I love my 100s and 690s. Don't regret getting them instead of the Prestige series.

A good guess too.

If I'd known that Paradigm was dropping the Studio line, I would've jumped at some 100's and a 690. They're beautiful and well-regarded.
I did luck out and recently got Studio 60's and a 590 and only finished setting them up this morning. I sat there with the music cranked just staring and smiling.
Tomorrow I have stuff to do around the home and those Studios are gonna be cranked all day. I love it!

Very clean and good looking setup! Black ash was originally my color of choice because it goes with anything and is always the accepted color no matter the era, but I decided last minute to go with Rosenut.

I never really had a chance to audition the Monitors much. How do the Studios sound compared to your Monitors?

Going with the Rosenut was an excellent choice! If I could've, I would have went with that. I'm fortunate to get any Studio's at all though.

Last winter when I was first considering an upgrade, I kept going back and forth between the 60's and a pair Monitor 11's at my dealer. The Studio's were obviously better. The mid and high range really stood out. The bass on the 11's was better, but with subwoofers, that isn't really a factor.

It wasn't so much as an upgrade that I was looking for. I wanted to go from 2.1 to 5.1 in my living room. With my dealer having those 60's still there, it definitely turned out to be one, haha.

My movie room is in chaos at the moment. I'm in the process of lowering all 4 surrounds, and the projector too. Once I have everything up and running again, I can do an A/B on the differences between the Monitor 9's and the Studio's. I don't really need to, but it'll be interesting to see if what I heard last winter still stands.

The Monitor 11s have the bigger woofers for the low end, but the mid range is what makes the Studios so good. It's so creamy smooth. The Studios are really great musical speakers that also do well with movies. And like you said, you sub will take care of everything. Did your dealer have any Studio 20s available? My friend has a pair of Studio 20s and they sound amazing when paired with a sub.

So I've been out of the home theater game for a while, lack of funds being a major reason. So I've just discovered that Paradigm discontinued their Studio line quite a while ago. Seeing this, I'm thinking of picking up some used gear to finish out my setup. Currently, all I own is a set of Studio 20v2's, and just picked up a CC-470 center channel.

I've got some old catalogs, which I have to hunt up, but not dealing with performance or design upgrades, what's a quick way to differentiate between Paradigm versions? I'm assuming 470 or 570 is version 3, while 590 and 690 are version 4. And version five keeps the model numbers, but went with the rounded cabinets, correct?

From what I've been reading the last couple days, there was a big improvement in sound from the v2 to v3, while improvements over the next couple versions have been more incremental, not quite so major differences.

I'm looking at trying to get some Studio 100v3's, figure that's a good balance between cost and performance unless the v4's or v5's are just so much better. Move my 20's to surrounds and then eventually maybe a bedroom system.

Below is Paradigm's teaser video for their upcoming Persona series which is a luxury line. According to one person on the AVS forum, the bookshelves will start at 10k Canadian. For USD, I believe I saw that it will be around 7k.

I've owned Paradigm for many years, getting a pair of Studio 100V3's when they were initially released is was what locked me into the hobby...

Since Paradigm is very well known, I'm shocked to see that there are maybe 1 or 2 active members with the Signature S8's. My friend is looking to buy a used pair and was curious to hear some feedback from you guys....

I see plenty of members with the B&W 800 series, with models costing double the tag of the S8's,.....yet not many are pulling the trigger on Paradigm's Signature line. So if the issue is price, why would Paradigm consider selling these new monitors for $7000 a pair?

...I know the S8's rock, ..so why discontinue the line, and create a new flagship for significantly more money?

Enjoy!
