Even though Drive is a crime thriller, it is so much more than that. It was a romance, an Arthouse piece, and a neo-noir film.

This is much more along the lines of a straight-headed crime drama. I can't really compare this movie to anything really. It's pretty damn unique.
I thought it was a lot like Big Daddy, a thought provoking Adam Sandler film

I thought the same also. But only at the lunchroom table scene

reviving an old thread but just watched this last night and was underwhelmed and surprised by everyone on here loving it....movie starts out good and kind of drags and the third act seems pointless and forced.

can anyone tell me WHY Goslings son wants to kill Cooper?? solely becuase Copper killed Gosling?? lol, thats ridiculous. kid had a father figure his entire life. he Read articles about his father robbing banks subsequently being killed after his final robbery. so what makes him think Cooper killed him unjustifiably???

and was funny how they had everyone smoking in every scene at all times during the movie.

The police force wasnt exactly "clean" in the movie.
Cooper later lied to the investigator saying that Gosling shot first

oh i understand that....but how exactly would Goslings son KNOW any of that by reading newspaper articles???

and really, the guy was robbing banks...you going to kill a cop over a guy youve never met before who was a bank robber?

Kind of drags? It really drags as soon as Gosling is out of the film. Ill never get that time back..
