Nah, I always think it's because there's a new edition coming out. But it's almost always a new or barely active member asking some random question. I suppose it's better they ask on an existing thread as opposed to them starting a new one.

A very belated reply, but Walter Hill has been asked about that a few times and is quite emphatic that there never was a 131-minute cut of the film. Some scenes were shot but not used, like this scene of Bruce Dern shooting the injured bank robber in a toilet stall (which is included in the novelization: as it stands, people just assumed Glasses kills him in the bank so it wasn't deemed necessary):

- but many of the scenes people talk about never existed: there were no additional car chases and no scenes with Cheryl Smith.
"Gentleman, that last remark is not for publication. This is a D notice situation."

Here is where the film got that 131 min. ghost cut:

When the film was released on VHS by CBS/FOX video, they made typo, instead of writing 1hr 31mins, they wrote 131 mins. But the film has always been 91mins.

No, and I doubt they will. It took like 2 years for this title to sell out.

they already went on record a few months back saying-- no more re-releases. It devalues their product and irritates customer clientele that have already bought and paid the price....

Oh boo hoo for those people. Not everyone is able to buy every movie the moment they come out. Twilight Time still has several movies I just learned they had released that are over priced now because they are OOP.

Well that is good for the people the knew the movie existed during those 2 years. What about those that just found out about it?

Why not bug the studio that actually owns the film to re-release it? Or ask other distributors to maybe license the film after TT's three-year contract is over? To expect TT to keep every title that they release in print forever, titles that they don't even own outright, is absurd. If you don't know a particular movie and it goes OOP before you even knew the movie existed, tough cookies. Nothing lasts forever and movies go OOP all the time, and it's not TT's fault.
