Default Colecovision

Picked one up today from a friends used game store. Only $39.99!. Mint shape. Ive never owned one and cant wait to start playing. Anyone tried this system before. When I was 10 there was a coin shop dealer who had video games in his store. He also had a colecovision and for a quarter, you could play a game. The only one I tried was Smurfs. Kinda hard back then but easy now. Any must haves?
Im all about the Ultraviolet copy

Some of my all-time favorites on Colecovision are (in alphabetical order):

Burger Time
Carnival
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
Frenzy
Ladybug
Venture
Zaxxon

The good thing is that most of these games are easy to find and relatively cheap. I loved the games on that system, but the controller gets really uncomfortable after awhile.

I sold my Atari 2600 with a ton of games to my cousin and bought one, and exchanged it as they were prone to locking up. I ended up returning it, and buying a TI-99/4A computer. It cool as shit for it's time.

To answer your initial question, add Popeye and Time Pilot to DuranFanWI list.

ColecoVision ® Flashback Classic Console $39.99 @ Toys R Us I don't own it, but just pointing out that this exists.

Intellivision Flashback Classic Game Console also $39.99

I had one when I was a kid, along with several games. I also had the "expansion module" which played Atari 2600 games (imagine a similar product today!)

Now I play the ColoecoVision library of games on my Ouya.

Loved the TI-99/4A, it was the first computer I ever owned back in the day! Funny thing is, the Colecovision and the TI-99/4A both had essentially the same video processors. Games that Atarisoft and Parker Brothers put out for the TI-99/4A (as well as Colecovision) were really good, like Popeye, Q*Bert, Donkey Kong, and Ms. Pac-Man. Makes me wonder why Coleco didn't port others like Zaxxon and Venture for the TI.

Hey Chiefy ... for quite a few of TI-99/4A games, remember to hold down the SHIFT key and then "8", "3", "8" and it will take you to a cheat screen in case you didn't know.

I never had ghosts n ghouls except for SNES.

I saw the coleco and intellivision flashbacks at my local Family Dollar. Ive though about picking one up, but Ill wait to see how they sell. Ebay it littered with the Atari flashbacks, maybe I can wait.

I picked up Burgertime finally, its worth the effort to find one. Great game.
