I sold mine for £160 about 4 months ago or so. Its quite nice but the blue banner at the top puts me off. I have since sold all steelbooks that have the blue banner as well. Full facial art for me. I did buy the bluefans edition which came with a 2nd empty steel which looks better than the Futureshop version.

Well, actually i don't fancy the blue banners as well, but since i only need this edition to complete my collection, i just have to hunt it down!
£160 would've been a no-brainer for me - why did you not tell me about you selling it?!

Here's a pic of my current Iron Man collection (well, not really "current", since i got a few new items since i took that pic):

I may test the going rate theory and see what a 'battle damaged' version will sell for if Hot Toya can sell battle damaged versions of their figures for more money why can't I sell battle damaged versions of steel books for more money?

This thing's worth serious money? I have one I picked up for $20 bucks at a used DVD place a few years ago.

Mine was perfect bar a tiny indent on the corner which I stupidly zoomed in one of the pictures.

I never advertised it here because once upon a time I did and got no end of stick. Apparently this site will not let you sell anything above a certain value, which in my case was something like $100. So I put it on ebay and it sold for £160. The buyer was happy and I was happy.

I then used the money to buy the blufans edition of which I got two better steels of Ironman for $65 shipped. I only say "better" because it doesn't have the bluray banner on the top on either of them. I can also open the empty steel for display purposes and keep the disc version sealed.

On the subject of bluray banners. One day blu ray will be old. Just like 3D monikers in titles and DVD logos, once the era has gone and past it will likely drop the value like a lead balloon. But if you just have 100% artwork, to me that is timeless.

I do however concede that as far as steelbooks go, the Futureshop Ironman was really great to look at. A real eye catcher. But on todays standards and prices the blufans represents greater value for money in my humble opinion. I don't normally praise blufans I think most of their stuff is over rated and you have to go through silly channels to obtain a copy. I don't intend to sway opinion here, just giving my reasons for selling.

The FS IM still sells well when it goes up for auction, it was the original "holy grail" as it were.

It's value has significantly decreased though over the past couple years thanks to everyone and their nan releasing their own steelbook version.

I remember when Play.com announced they were releasing an Iron Man steelbook and FS owners had the pitchforks out!

I remember in the early days before any others came out it would go fo upwards of $500 for a sealed copy

I considered the 'original' holy grail to be FS I Am Legend, followed by Rambo, but both of those saw re-releases that turfed their value... I may be rewriting history for my own purposes here but that's what i recall
