how do you know it is a remaster even? Could just be the older transfer with a better encode.

Either way it beats the original BD, which wasn't from a 1080p source. It's some lower resolution blown up to 1080, resulting in jagged pixels all over, especially noticeable on any diagonal lines.

Just look at the edges of the rear windows of every car in this shot:

And the whole movie is like that on the original BD.

I watched it projected last night and I would say it's a respectable remaster, but definitely not up to par to some of the better ones. Perhaps it's just related to the source, but I could sense a very subtle green push to the image in some scenes.

I would rather watch this, flaws and all, than be stuck with the terrible DVD, like with some titles such as True Lies and The Abyss. Sometimes, you just have to be happy with what you can get.
