It really felt like Hangover India surrounding a poop joke and was less funny.

I would say Bollywood films (I'm aware of maybe 6), and Silent Movies (about 8) are my biggest blind spots. Also, I just discovered my vision to be slightly blurry when it comes to horror movie (particularly 80's). I thought I was aware of a great deal, but talking to my Horror fanatic friends and with Scream factory (on occasion), they show me stuff that I wasn't aware of. I kinda wish my library reflected more of what I know, but I can't afford that hahaha.
BE KIND. IT'S NOT THAT DIFFICULT.

God, I have a ton. Been collecting movies for decades (currently spanning CED, LD, DVD, and BD/3D BD), but I find I keep returning to favorite genres instead of expanding my horizons. I've got hundreds of documentaries, most of the superhero films, tons of foreign and art cinema, tons of silent and pre-code classics. Friends hate coming over to watch my movies, as they rarely know anything about them, and never ask to borrow them.

Off the top of my head, I am pretty deficient in knowledge of and appreciation for the following:

Bollywood, Nollywood, etc. Never seen any.
70s cinema, barring exceptions like Star Wars. Most of what I know of anything in this time frame is from the documentary "A Decade Under the Influence." Like, not even seen The Godfather.
Most Disney/Pixar, as well as complete ignorance of the newer competing studios. I do have a good collection as girlfriends over the years seem to love them, but I just can't get into most of them.
Fantasy films of any sort. (Huge collection on LD, though, as the ex-wife loved them.)
Anime post 1995 or so.
TV series (yeah, not movies) from 1992 on. Life got in the way, got out of the habit of watching TV, never got back in when I had time.
Non-superhero action and mainstream comedy films from 2002 on. Started school in 2002, and lost the little bit of free time I had to see movies all my friends wanted to see. The last two movies I saw in theaters: Avengers and Wreck-It Ralph.
Westerns. I think I own one.
Serials. Never have seen any, though I've got a couple of Columbia serials on DVD for whenever the urge hits.
Romantic comedies.
Historical/costume dramas.
Formats currently playable in media set-up: Blu Ray 3D, Blu Ray, DVD, Video CD, Laserdisc, Laseractive, CD Video, CED, VHD, 3D VHD, Betamax, CD, CD+G, audio cassette, vinyl, Atari 2600, Commodore 64/128. No VHS!

Silent movies. I hate them. I love spoken language so watching movies without any is akin to torture.

Maybe you should get into theatre seen as cinema is about images not dialogue.

Just curious, those of you who don't like silent film did you see The Artist?

For me, I guess anime is my biggest blindspot. That and any Adam Sandler comedy not co-starring Drew Barrymore.

For me I'd say most definitely are war films (although I did love Saving Private Ryan), political films, musicals & documentaries.

Also to an extent most foreign films, but I will give them a chance if the subject matter interests me.

Didn't list silent films because honestly would probably NEVER have any remote interest in one

Certainly have no bollywood unless slum dog counts.

The collection thing on here told me I was very under representing war movies, which is fine... the subject doesn't interest me.

I did pick up platoon apocalypse now the other day... I haven't watched them yet.

I have no silent films.... I don't think I would have much patience for them. I went to see some at a theater with someone playing piano in front of the screen... yeah well... I'm glad movies have sound now.

Non-English language movies. Anime's the obvious exception but beyond that literally nothing.
Pre-orders: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs SB, The Lion King SB, Sleeping Beauty SB, Tangled SB, Tarzan SB, Beauty & The Beast SB, Gurren Lagann UE, Evangelion 3.33, Space Dandy CE, Kill la Kill Vol 1 CE

I have a few that I'm really working on trying to fix and that's foreign films, westerns, and pretty much most of Hollywood pre-90s I'm awful on... I have seen vital films like The Godfather, Clockwork Orange, Casablanca because of film classes I've taken but for the most part and in the grand scheme of things, I'm lacking in knowledge of older films. Take a glance of my collection and you'll know I'm a 19 year old kid who's seen most of the modern classics (90s-2010s) but I'm working on fixing that! haha
