I just put 41 of 250 up on the auction block if anyone is interested. It will be kind of sad to see it go, but I have a Disneyland vacation to pay for. :-(

I wonder if they'd ever make a sequel with Will Smith for an I Robot 2, with all new ideas?

I Robot, definitely not "must see" in 3D, agreed. 90% weak 3D, great movie though.

Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter's 3D was decent, mild to medium 3D.
Prometheus was very good for 3D, a mix of mild, medium and some almost strong 3D.

Wondering if IRobot 3D is worth buying for $9.99? I have the original 2D Blu-ray version and didn't buy the 3D because of bad reviews. I read through the entire thread and it seems like few liked it though.

Wondering if anyone watched this recently on a newer 3D TV especially on a LG Oled and can comment on the 3D? I have been re-watching some of my older 3D collection movies that was just okay in 3D but on my new Oled TV... it's been a great experience.

Its really a bad 3D presentation. Not noisy or loaded with artifacts but just plain old weak 3D. It looks flat mostly. And they screwed up the aspect ratio and used 1.78:1 versus the original 2.40:1 so that screws it up even more.

I also have the 65" E6 OLED and the 3D on it is amazing - best EVER for home use. But this movie is NOT worth it. Read reviews, they'll confirm it. Great movie - bad 3D though.

If you find that you get enjoyment watching 3D movies of a similar strength such as Prometheus, Amazing Spiderman, Underworld: Awakening, Boxtrolls, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, perhaps you will enjoy IRobot on your TV.

I don't regret buying the 3-D version at all. The effect is mostly mild but it does make a difference. The filmmaking already has a strong sense of depth and dimensionality to begin with--Proyas is a generous director in that regard--so it's well-suited to 3-D, even with a lightweight conversion like this. I found it opened up this future world just enough to make an impression, and given the choice I'd never watch it in 2-D again. Think of it as an enhancement rather than a full transformation. So if you're a fan of the film and of 3-D, I'd say go for it.

I'd second this. I also have the 2D version (for the extras) but I won't be watching it in that format ever again.

And it's worth noting that the aspect ratio is opened up as well as cropped - you get extra picture information at the top and bottom of the screen compared to the 2D version. See http://www.noreruns.net/2012/10/23/b...ew-i-robot-3d/
3D is not dead. What's dead is my interest in any new 2D formats or display technology.

IMo, its as much that they screwed up the aspect ratio with the crop & chop versus just the weak 3D. Hate that.
