Am I mistaken in thinking that the only blu-ray version of The Godfather that has any special features, aside from commentary, is the trilogy box set?

That makes no sense to me.

Why on earth wouldn't they have a "making of" or "legacy" type video feature for the individual films? I and II are two of the ten most iconic films of all time and they get next to nothing in special features?

...doesn't seem right.

P.S...please ignore post if my opinion is based on inaccurate information.

That material is in the box set. The individual releases are Paramount's way of extracting revenue on the cheap from people who can't stand Part 3 or from people who will re-buy the same movies in different packaging (slipcovers, MetalPaks, Steelbooks, etc.).
Attention: Blu Titan and crazyBLUE are awesome.

We now return to the regularly scheduled programming.

The trilogy set isn't really more expensive than buying just one and two, so I don't see it as a huge issue. Anyone who cares about special features can get the trilogy set.

+1

The trilogy has dipped below $20 several times, which makes it a far better value than dented aluminum.

If you're lucky you can buy the individual extras disc from the boxset separately. Just keep one eye online and the other eye in second hand stores.
