I only updated to v6.1.2 not too long ago and I have not noticed any battery life issues. I've read problems regarding battery life with v6.1.2 (especially for Exchange users). You might want to update to the recently available v6.1.3. It might solve your problem.

i got a 5 a few weeks ago and have been having issues with my wifi connection after the most recent update.
at times, even though i have the wifi signal meter on my screen, it won't be connected. i can go into the wifi settings where it will be "connected" to my home network. but if i try to go to my mail or use the internet or download an app it won't load anything. i then have to go into the wifi settings, turn wifi off then back on, then everything will be fine. this happens if i let the phone sit and i don't use it for a little while. but as long as i'm using it it doesn't "disconnect" from the network. is there some other setting that i'm not seeing that will let it stay connected to my network? and if so is this an option just on the 5? my 4 never did this.

Question for anyone who recently installed iOS 6.1.3
I recently updated to that version and immediately saw battery life dropping a lot more than usual. And as of last night it kept shutting off and restarting (did that 2-3 times) Now this morning I grabbed it from the charger and the screen turned a purple/greenish color and shut off. Tried to turn it on, nothing. Tried doing a hard reset (holding home and lock buttong for 30+ seconds) and nothing. Read up on it, and people mentioned a recovery mode. I've never seen this so I was lenient to restore my phone because I haven't since September 2012. I needed my phone today and wanted to try a factory reset before I took it to the Apple store. Sure enough, reset it, lost most of my photos, texts, contacts, etc.. I didn't care too much because I had most of my #'s saved, but pictures I've lost from the past 7-8 months definitely sucks. Well about 9 hours later my phone decides to take a shit again and die. Same thing happened, screen discoloration and no response to resets. I'm not about to waste my time with a factory reset, definitely going to Genius Bar tomorrow for someone to either fix the phone or give me a completely new. I'm under warranty and have Apple Care so hopefully it covers this... Was just wondering if any iPhone users on here have had this problem. |

Well, just got back from the Apple store, told them the problem and they said they haven't seen it continuously go into recovery mode. Under warranty they just said hopefully most of your backup is on your itunes. It is, so they just gave me a brand new phone.
