has anyone else watched the French Hard Banana Version of this

Hot Nights of Linda Limited Edition Bluray ?

or Expose which was a bonus disc on the Limited Edition disc on the web exclusive of:

House on Straw Hill?

feel like these two Limited Edition Web Exclusives of these titles became pretty damn rare and hard to find from the early days of Severin's rollout into Bluray...

I watched the French Hard Banana Version.

The Hot Nights of Linda 3-disc set can be purchased directly from the Severin Films store for $22.98. https://severin-films.com/shop/the-h...c-blu-ray-dvd/

same for House on Straw Hill 3-disc set... $20.95 https://severin-films.com/shop/the-h...dvd-bonus-dvd/

Here's the 3-disc set cover for The Hot Nights of Linda.

I just hope they put the Dr. Butcher cut of the film on there. Can't believe no one has ever put that version out yet. I'm sure it has to do with rights, but I've never seen any company mentioning anything about trying to obtain it.

I got both the Shriek Show and 88 Films blu-rays, but if the extras are cool enough, I'll triple dip.

I think it's a safe bet considering the artwork they chose to announce this film and the title they've been using when discussing it in the comments section. For what it's worth, they also "liked" a comment that requested them to "Please include the actual Doctor Butcher cut!"

Yep, it certainly sounds like it. They added in another comment "Wait till you hear about the extras we have!", to which someone replied "Would one of those extras be the full Dr. Butcher version and reversible art" and Severin liked that as well.

I've held off thus far buying the 88 films version, so i'm really glad Severin's got it now.

Severin's release of Burial Ground will most likely be from a different master than 88 Films' release. From 88's Facebook:

Quote:
We would be very surprised if it is the same master. We were in talks with them about sharing the cost of remastering but nothing came of it. this remaster has been funded out of your wallets via Indiegogo and it would be a shame if it were ripped and used in another territory. Plus we have an exclusive GRINDHOUSE VERSION of the film from 35mm which you defo wont find on any other releases
We all go a little mad sometimes.

If they're going through such efforts to remaster the film, why compress it and waste disc space on a "grindhouse version"? Is there any difference, other than it being all scratched up?

Of course, this is only assuming they are putting it on the same disc, but based on Axe / Kidnapped Coed / Bloody Brothers, they probably are.

IIRC, the now "grindhouse version" is from a 35mm print and was what was going to be released initially. 88 found the 16mm negatives and are now using a scan from those on their release. It was suggested on their Facebook to include the original unrestored 35mm scan as a grindhouse version and so they're deciding to include it. They'll both be on the same disc but there should be plenty of room for both versions.
We all go a little mad sometimes.

It will be sort of funny if Severin does use it, since then Severin would be doing exactly the same thing 88 has allegedly done to Code Red with refusing to go in on the cost of a remaster and then using it after the work is done

The issue I have with this is how did they get the master if not from the film's rights owner. And if they got it from the film's rights owner, then isnt that the person the label who created the master should be angry towards, assuming the rights owner actually did the wrong thing and never owned the master to give away.
