Criterion licensed the Blu-ray rights from Universal.

Now Lionsgate have took over the US rights.... Criterion may need to make new deal with Lionsgate and make little change on the Blu-ray? Maybe it is why Criterion Blu-ray is temporarily out of stock?

Most intense ride I've ever been on, by the end I was a completely different person.

Universal lost the rights sometime after Criterion released this and Janus/Criterion licensed the rights from Lynch. I suspect that StudioCanal retains some of the digital rights (and Lionsgate has the rights to their catalog) and Janus/Criterion has theatrical and disc rights.

I picked this up at the Barnes and Noble half off sale and must say the video quality is absolutely stunning. As usual for Criterion releases.

It's actually one of their lesser quality titles, due to compression issues, but otherwise it's top notch.
