No love for Miko Hughes? He was a little over 2 years old when this was filmed. I'm still amazed at how good his performance is.

Well, actually, quite a bit of the time you are seeing an animatronic version of Miko Hughes. Especially in the film's climax which uses almost none of the flesh and blood Miko.

It remains the single most stunning use of animatronics I've ever seen.

As for the rest of the cast, I think they're fine. Dale Midkiff is a bit stiff here and there but has a likability that goes a long way and I became a fan of his due to his performance here.

well, i finally got around to checking my previous collector's edition DVD & it has the same out-of-context scene in it, so i no longer know what to think... at least it isn't unique to this BD, and if it didn't bother me then (that i can recall), it shouldn't bother me now. just a wonder no one else seemed to pick up on this... also a bummer that the image is cropped so poorly, near the end when the wife climbs into the big rig truck,
[Show spoiler]you can't even see the 666 printed beneath the door...

it seems i'm the only person who cares at all about this...

but i e-mailed Paramount regarding the misplaced scene & poor cropping of the image some weeks ago, only to receive a form-letter response from them now... to which i replied...

Thank you kindly for your form-letter response, albeit weeks after my initial request. Unfortunately, in the meantime I have double-checked my previous DVD copy & found the same errors. Not only is there a misplaced scene in the movie, but the aspect ratio has been cropped to remove some vital information from the bottom of the screen. This indicates that not only are you using old DVD masters for your BD upgrades, but some apparent neglect of attention to detail has been the status quo for quite some time now. Since I'm certain this will be the best we will ever get from this beloved catalog title, I will merely employ more discretion in the future as to whether or not Paramount Blu-rays are really worthy of purchase. I hope for my own sake & for yours that next time you get things right. Thank you.

Finally found this at Walmart. Only 2 copies left. I love the lenticular slip cover with the cat on it. Rather get it now with a cool slipcover. Good movie IMO.
